Question Does anyone know about changing the sink to square in the 2022 Flying Cloud?

We have a 2022 25FBT on order and recently downloaded the new Airstream brochure. We noticed a square sink where the round one used to be in the brochure we downloaded last month.
I can't seem to find any information about this change. I am curious if there is information about this or any other changes. The Dealer informed us that Airstream does not make changes during the calendar year so I was surprised by the difference in floor plan.

I believe that they did switch to a square/rectangular stainless steel sink.

You’re kinda stuck with it unless you replace the entire countertop.

Where did you see a 2022 brochure? I did a search for one and found a site taking reservations for the 2022 - their brochure has the round sink, but the copyright on the brochure is from 2020.

I had a 2020 international with the round sink which they switched out for a square sink in 2021. My 2021 flying cloud has the square sink as well.

The square sink became standard in the Flying Cloud in 2021. For some reason the printed/downloadable brochure has had a difficult time catching up with the change. If you go to the online version of the Flying Cloud floor plans, it shows the square sink. https://www.airstream.com/travel-tra...ans/25fb-twin/

Thank you for your responses. The funny thing is that a few weeks before we ordered our unit, the RV dealer showed us a 2021 that had just been delivered, it had a queen rather than the twin we wanted, but it had the round sink. When I asked at the time we ordered our unit, since we were told it would need to be ordered as a 2022, we were told that Airstream did not make any changes in the trailer until the change of the calendar year. Now it is true that the unit that we were shown was ordered fall last year (2020) so I guess I can understand. I would be curious if anyone has a photo of the Flying Cloud 25 interior with the square sink if they could share it. Also if anyone has knowledge if there are any other changes. I compared the brochures, downloaded in February with the one downloaded last week that showed the square sink in the floor plan, but could find no other differences. I appreciate the information everyone is providing. Thanks.

Ultimate Airstreams did a conversion for me. Excellent job. Sink is 18 by 22 inches. A real sink is a must in this life.

I don't see why it would be any different than installing a new sink in your house, just verify you can cut a hole to whatever the new sink requires. If there different the plumbing will need to be adjusted slightly, but I've done it in an non airstream TT before

Yes, the sink is stainless. The plastic sink cover is in place in this photo.

The Flying Cloud changed significantly between the 2020 and 2021 model years. The 2020 models had the Landmark laminate interior with the Ultraleather Dwell upholstery in Sandpiper, Truffle, and Wild Honey colors. They also had ROUND kitchen sinks. So, if you saw a Flying Cloud with a round kitchen sink, it was a 2020 model (or earlier). For 2021, the interior laminate changed to the lighter Sunlit Maple with the Ultraleather in either the Seattle Mist or Carolina Clay colors. Other significant changes included a composite subfloor (though some of the last 2020 models also had the composite subfloor), the on-demand water heater, new cabinet hardware, soft-closing hinges, new vinyl flooring, warmer-looking LED lighting, new pillows and bedspreads, a SQUARE stainless steel sink in the kitchen and a round one in the bathroom.

For reasons of which I am uncertain, Airstream still includes photos of pre-2021 Flying Clouds on their website. The 2021 Flying Cloud brochure I downloaded June 2020, has pre-2021 photos and floor plans with the round kitchen sinks. I just downloaded an updated 2021 Flying Cloud brochure from Airstream's website and all of the photos and floorplans now appear to be updated.

I am not quite clear what you meant by "The Dealer informed us that Airstream does not make changes during the calendar year." To the best of my knowledge, Airstream usually makes announcements of upcoming model year changes in May or June, and the new models begin to appear around September. So, expect Airstream to announce any changes to the 2022 models in May or June 2021. The 2022 brochures should be available soon afterward. I wouldn't expect any significant changes to the 2022 Flying Cloud given the huge changes made in 2021. Of course, COVID and the record-breaking demand for Airstreams may negate some of these expectations.

Last year we ordered a 2020 Flying Cloud and then canceled it and re-ordered a 2021 model. We had to wait an additional five months, but our patience paid off. We could not be more satisfied with our 2021 Flying Cloud 27 FBT Hatch. I hope you enjoy your Flying Cloud just as much!

Talk to Ian at Ultimate Airstreams in Portland, OR about the cost to do this. They use all EOM parts and it doesn't void any Airstream warranty... in fact what they do is warrantied.

Did they also change the cabinetry to match the sink? I would love to get rid of the 2 little glass door cubbys and have a real cabinet door like in the picture in the above post. Is that an airstream brochure picture or the mod from Ultimate Airstreams?

Thomoose, We ordered a 2021 23FB FC in early 2020. My wife saw the interior online around May, with round sink, and quickly switched to a 2020 on the lot with the rectangular double sink. The sales lady said she did not know about the change before we told her. That’s how JC does things. I believe the 2020 25 footers had the round sink.
If Airstream made the change because customers prefer the practicality of a rectangular sink, maybe you could give it a try. Take the money you would spend on a retrofit and dress up the kitchen some other way. Just sayin’

If you have round dishes, why want a square sink?
More sanitary with no corners.
A more convincing reasoning I have never heard!

You will love the rectangular sink

round sink and cabinet were a pain, curved doors never stay tight or closed.
big improvement with the rectangular sink and cabinet for 2021.
it is one of the reason we bought the 2021 rather than a 2020.
