I am not too surprised that NASA rejected this design as it seems more geared to being an off-road RV rather than a crew transfer shuttle. NASA designs for function over all other considerations, and aesthetics rarely if ever enter into consideration.

Indeed, the design resembles nothing so much as a custom chop-shop project on a classic AS MOHO.

But AS has already in fact built and delivered a crew transport shuttle for Boing’s star liner crew capsule based on their Sprinter chassis Interstate that looks literally like a rolling billboard.

The crew transport in the Apollo era resembled a bread truck.

I had to check this wasn't posted on 1st April, as it is no more than a rendering of the motorhome that was mounted on a MAN chassis in Germany a few years ago.

The Apollo era crew transport was indeed a step van, but the Shuttle era crew transport was a 24ft Excella known as the Astrovan.
