Thanks! Hopefully next summer things will be better!

Update - swapped recumbent trike for Specialized Vado

She got an ICE Adventure with the Shimano STEPS 8000 e-assist. I got a Catrike Dumont (non-electric). Both fold up; mine stands like a suitcase.

My wife is now able to pass me on the hills and we ride daily. We love the recumbents! Looks like my Trek Carbon road bike will be collecting dust.
Well, I thought I could keep up with my DW on her recumbent e-trike but I was wrong. She even pulled the dog in a Burley trailer and I was chasing them up hills on the Bearskin Trail in Minocqua, WI. It's a packed gravel trail with several long grades.

Lucky for me the Hostel Shoppe has a 30 day return policy and allowed me to swap my Catrike recumbent trike for a Specialized Vado 4.0 Class 3 e-bike (and get $$ back). While I loved the relaxed riding position of the recumbent trike, I really didn't have a physical limitation that made it necessary. If I do need one in the future it will be a pedal assist version.

Now I can pull the trailer and keep up with her! Bonus: It's almost the same color as our truck.

The Virginia Airstream Club 109 is planning to host a Bike Virginias Caravan in August of 2021. The agenda is The Virginia Creeper Trail, The New River Trail, in Virginia and The Greenbrier Trail in West Virginia. The big picture is to hire shuttles for the Virginia Creeper and ride the entire 34 miles, White Top to Abingdon and then self shuttle in small groups on the other two. I was going to suggest Fries to Galax up and back on the first day of the The New River Trail and then just let folks ride and shuttle at will. At this point, the dates and plans are variable. Thinking three campgrounds. Two days at Abingdon, three days at Wytheville and three days at Lewisburg. I would appreciate any feedback or guidance. I have ridden most of the miles in these trails. Thanks!

Cycling Rally

Wouldn't it be great to have a cycling centered rally, with an integrated graduated ride baked into the weekend? We could ride for a charity and ask local breweries and vendors, especially those vendors with French fries, to participate.

Thoughts?
