Anyone familiar with what's going on with zipdee and not being sold right now on the Airstream store site? Says there's some quality issue?

We love our REI Hangtime chairs. They are perhaps the most comfortable we have tried.

Ok - new "chair" addition

I've been into "hammock camping" in backpacking and kayak camping in the past year and had to buy this on a sale online today.

Good for you but my body is only good for about 1 hour in a hammock. Arthritis is not hammock friendly.

Thanks to the forum I purchased a Strongback Elite chair a month ago tried it and like it so much I bought 3 more when I found a clearance sale at Marks Work Warehouse Canada! I have back pain and could not stand most folding chairs for too long. These are very supportive for your lower back and now I can sit for hours without pain.

Chairs with table

I have some folding (flat) chairs with a table attached to be perfect. Dicks, Big 5 pretty much ubiquitous.

I am 6'4" 250 pounds muscle not bulges. I want a chair that I can fit comfortably in.. I'd also a lounge type chair I can lean back in an nap. Money is not an issue.

IMO, if price is not an issue, the LaFauma make the best lounge chairs. I have two of the zero gravity and they have held up very well over the years.

As to a regular outdooe chair I would recommend that you to an outdoor store and sit in them before you buy. IMO the backs of them are different and provide different comfort depending on the individual. I also carry a Kermit chair to include the extension legs as it is compact and comfortable at least for me. I am 230 and like you all muscle however my muscles are resting.

I feel the lafuma zero gravity are it! I've used and abused mine now a couple years and still going strong

And ohhh so comfy

"Hammocks" are extremely arthritis friendly IF hung and used properly. Often people lay in them bunched up like a banana but this is user error....must have proper "hang angle" and "lay on a diagonal".

I am primarily speaking of "gathered end" hammocks and not those crappy back yard ones with wife spreader bars and made from like rope webbing...I am talking about "Brazilian style" hammocks that are 10+ feet long pieces of rectangular fabric with ends gathered and tied up.

The Amok Dramr is something else and is extremely comfy I assure you.

The Amok Dramr is extremely comfy.

Time to revive this thread in anticipation of warmer weather. Forever in search of the ultimate portable chair.

Has anyone tried the Helinox Beach Chair? I was wondering how well the feet work in the sand. Also, I would be concerned about sand getting into the tubes when breaking it down on the beach. Otherwise, I like its light weight and ease of carrying it to the beach. I really like my Helinox camp chairs.

We also use Alps mountaineering chairs. Very well built. Should last for years.
Check out their website. They have 21 different models and colors. Even a reclining model.

I love our lafuma zero gravity lounge chair for laying back and sleeping and our Strongback chairs for just sitting around I don’t think you can go wrong with either

Helinox Sunset chairs

We chose Helinox Sunset primarily because they are the height of most standard chairs so when we’re with others we would be at the same sitting height. They roll up to be compact, are light and store staff have used them happily for their camping trips. Not excessive space in the GTour so size counts. They are small enough to carry to a beach when needed.

We have the Sunset also, but haven't used them on the beach, because of concern of the feet sinking into the sand. How have you found them working in the sand? I would love to hear from anyone with experience with the Helinox beach chairs.

We were in REI today and sat in the NEMO Stargaze Recline Luxury. This chair addressed a lot. Compact and light to pack. It has a tall back with head rest. It sits as a chair comfortably and reclines... and rocks! It does rock! Two negatives over some. No foot rest but with a camp stump or picnic bench, that would work. The other negative is the price. Still talking my travel partner into these.

The thread lives on...

I too saw the 20% REI sale. Enticing. I did like the way the chair felt. Setup and pickup is nice too.

We typically leave our chairs out in a campsite. These are so nice, I’m sort of concerned someone may also like the way they work and may want to borrow them.
