Has anyone had experience with the propane campfires. campfire in a can is one of the ones I am looking at. It is quite expensive. I wonder if they are useful and fun to have or a waste of money.

I have see the Little Red Campfire in action and was impressed. I liked it's compact size for storage in my trailer. I will own one.

There are many out there. I have the Campfire in a Can which we like.

Have no experience with the others, but after sharing an evening around an Outland a few weeks ago with neighbors in the campground, we bought an Outland for $125 delivered through Amazon. We like it a lot. I did see good reviews on some of the others. Note; we saw a lot of discrepancy in the prices of the Outland, but finally found it at the above price, which is what our campground friends said they paid.

We have the campfire in a can. Once you get passed the enjoyment of hauling or some how getting wood for a fire. The fun of getting a wood fire started. The enjoyment of burning eyes ever time the smoke heads in your direction. Oh, and don't forget being able to continue to enjoy the wood fire for many hours after it has burned out because the smell of smoke in your hair and clothing. I think the campfire in a can is great. I have had it burning for about 6 hours and have not used half of a 20 pound bottle yet. If you want it just for the campfire aspect with a few friends it is great, for larger groups on colder evenings you may need two or three of them.

I recently got a Campfire In a Can, friends of mine have the Camco Little Red Campfire. Both work well. The CIAC is a little larger, has an aluminum cover instead of painted steel, has separate regulator & valve (nice if you want to connect to low pressure LPG on the trailer) and has styrofoam inserts to protect the ceramic logs during transport. Of course it is 2X the price. It also can put out a bit more heat/larger flames.

The Little Red Campfire is a very good value at the Amazon price, less so at the Camping World price.
