How in the devil do we disable this pop up? I can't get it to stop. I registered some time ago thnking that would stop the damn thing asking me to join...but it didn't.

Thoughts or tricks?

This continues to be an annoyance and aggravation. It significantly detracts from the forum experience. If it were just once on the portal page, it would be somewhat tolerable; but two to three times, and on every post?!?!?!?

This is by far the most annoying website I go to. Not even newspaper sites do this to its readers, especially since the members are supplying the content that allow the site to go and sell advertising.

Also, my internet access seems to stop working often with this site.

When using my iPad, it's impossible to log in without the pop up popping up. I questioned Janet if the annoyance of the pop up was over shadowed by the response it generated. She assured me it did. Rule number one in marketing is it is easier and cheaper to keep good customers than it is to get new ones. Obviously that memo wasn't circulated at Air Forums. Too, there's a catch 22 involved here; if you sign up as a supporting member and pay, the pop up goes away. Is this a form of an internet protection racket?

Agree 100%. Exceptionally annoying, even when compared with other obnoxious pop-up ads on other websites.

Have you disabled the pop-up here? http://www.airforums.com/forums/prof...do=editoptions

It's the last option in the list - then his save to save your preferences.

Yes, I turned pop UPS off.
However; I log on, read a post, then hit the portal tab and I am no longer signed in.

Janet; is it really too much to ask if the pop up would only come up once? Even if not signed in?

What is the compelling argument to have it pop up two, three times on one page?

Not 100% sure... but I'm a SUPPORTING MEMBER - because I bought the supporter? Huh? I'm a Woman.

I don't get the ad.

I gladly pay $25 per year for a couple of window stickers - Just for the daily chuckles. Say I didn't get mine this year and the old ones went with the old trailer.... hmmm.

While I appreciate Janet's effort to help, There seems to be differences across the board in accessing this and other sites with mobile devices vs. laptops and desktops. When using an iPhone, the Air Forums has a totally different format and is very difficult to navigate. And yes, I've disabled the pop up to no avail.

To Forum tech managers ..

AGREE!! Hate the popup. Not only is it annoying but it keeps you from enjoying the site. If I need to log back in on my iPad, often I cannot even get through typing my user name before it pops up again! And again! And Again! And again! And again! And again! If you tired of reading and again then maybe you understand the users now.

Seems everyone hates it and I really can't see any value. Either you have an AS and love the site (most all do) or you don't have an AS or aren't getting one thus you don't care about the site. So the popup asking to email me stuff seems superfluous.

I use Airforums on an Android phone, a Nexus tablet and a desktop. I have the Airforums app installed on the phone and tablet. I am an annual supporter. I don't need to sign in as you just open the app with a tap of your finger. I don't see the Airstream daily advertisement and the app is very easy to use. When I use Airforums on the desk top I DO need to sign in and the pop up is very annoying and I only deal with it trying to sign in.
