Advice on floorplans

Hi, we are looking at getting our first AS. Looking at early 2000 25 foot models. One has a rear queen configuration with no dinette. The other is an SS floor plan with the side bed and a dinette opposite the kitchen.

Any advice or thoughts from folks who have lived with either or both. My wife and I would be travelling shorter trips for a few years then retiring. We're wondering about living with a side bed design on longer trips. It looks cramped back there :-)

Thanks for any advice.

Hey, Jerry,
Lin and I were in just your place about this time in 2010. We narrowed our search by deciding on a "walk-around-Queen" floorplan (we like to cuddle, even at our advanced age <grin>). Experienced 'streamers have found the 25 a little cramped, and many upgrade to a 27-30 after a year or two. Since Airtreams are so durable, we suggest you keep an open mind about length, and pick the floor plan that suits your lifestyle. We travel about 6-7 months of the year, and find our 30 just right.

With the side bed, we decided we were to old to crawl in and out of bed. And with the transverse queen, one of us was gonna have to squeeze around. So, we looked for the twin FB version for a while.

Then a 30 footer with RB queen showed up on the radar. Took less than 2 minutes to decide it was the one.

We don't regret going longer except for some short CG pads and bigger TV.
