27FBQ International just ordered

Hi all,

I have been Airdreaming for about 4 years in fact my GMC 2500HD license plate is "AIRDRMM". I just ordered a 27FBQ International this weekend and they estimate a delivery date in either June or July.

I was wondering what unlisted options can be done at the factory?

I have heard larger wheels and tires? If so how many inches does it add to the overall height?

2 or 3" lift kit?

What else is unlisted that you might be aware of?

Congrats mark!!!! We just ordered an International too! 25RBT. June or July is crazy good!

Mark, congratulations on your newly ordered Airstream!

The factory does not offer 16” wheels or a lift kit as a production line option. Both can be dealer installed but you’ll have two sets of wheels & tires (unless the dealer will work with you). There’s nothing wrong with the 15” wheels and Goodyear Endurance tires.

Unless you’ve got a need for the lift like a heavily sloped driveway, try it for a while and see if you really need it.

Check out the forum thread “What did you get for your trailer today?” for ideas of what you might want to modify once you get the unit. I’d start with a good TPS system (we have TST). Lots of tips and tricks here on the forum!

I was initially told August but they claim the ability to switch their orders at the factory if they have not been started yet, apparently like a place in line. We'll see if that is true and I suspect it will be later than they claim.

Going to stay with 15 wheels, seems fine with me. I've rented a 27' in the past and it ever so slightly drags out of my driveway and with all the reviews I'm just going to have the dealer install the lift which they have agreed to.

Hidden options. I got an email reply from Airstream. They state there is a stainless steel upgrade for external components( vent range cover, outside shower, fridge panel, heater panel, etc.) I searched and these are also offered from dealers online to do yourself.

Thanks. Got it. Not sure why I cannot reply in PM. Basically, on my final to make the purchase. Looks like the model and features I want will be ready for pick up in Jan. I am being told by my dealer that they called AS to inquire about installing the 3" lift on on our new 2023 globetrotter 27FB - and AS said they can no longer do it given a new axle design. Has ANYONE heard this???
