Size Matters
I just wanted to say that we went with a 23' because size can limit availability of camp sites. I also like that we have the couch that makes into a bed and the table in front folds out of the way. We do most of our camping outside. Having a A.S. is lovely!
nryn,
THANK YOU! that is so helpful! Actually, we were just in a 2018 27 and it was so awesome! being a tent camper, initially I started with thinking about a 19, then realized, I needed to go up, so then I thought the 23 would be great, but the storage, water capacities and corner bed have moved me up to a 25. The 27 would be great, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that next bump in my head....

We decided to rule out the bunkhouses. It will only be a couple years after we buy the trailer that our kids go to college and may or may not continue to travel with us. or we might travel to their college (so just us)
Also, the 25 AS I can get a queen/twin plus two additional convertible twins within a 26' overall length, I'm really struggling to find that in another brand - at that length, it's couch OR dinette, I have to get up to 29-30' overall length to get both.
wulfraat,
I considered that layout too! there is/was a 2007 Ocean breeze with that layout, but it has a corner bed. Initially I though the corner bed would be fine, but I can't deny the reality of us getting older and so many people moving away from that corner bed.
thank you again.

Then we got older and discovered that tent ends in KOA type park are awful because of street lights and we no longer loved climbing over each other to get out of bed... and that was time to move up!

Doesn't sound like the TT you mention was an AS?? Plus, those "tent ends" would not be permitted in parks where there is bear activity going on...Glacier and Yellowstone areas come to mind from past couple years when they closed access to tents and tent campers in certain campgrounds. There are other places also with this restriction in "bear country"...just saying.
No issues like that with an AS model, however.

I think I would like your set up, a recliner with a small table v. the dinette. I would like to consider that in an RV that I would like to buy.
Do you have pics?

We have a 2004 international CCD and just love it because of the coach and separate dinette situation

We have a 2016 25'FC FBT and I am a fan of the conversion - dinette to u-shaped lounge. We had this done by Ultimate Airstream last March and went on an extended trip this fall. Wow it worked out great with tons more storage and the option to host 6-7 adults comfortably or lounge with one table down for snuggling and watching movies.

Excellent decision and Ian and his team do excellent work, as you can see! congratulations...If I had a 25 or 27', I would also do this upgrade! Everything useable, plus more storage!

The long side of the seating was left intact.
Think about how you will use that area before making your decision.

Do you have any pix of that new recliner with a table....I would be interesting in attempting a similar design and could use some ideas.
Thanks in advance..
