16 ft BaseCamp to 20 ft.?

Has anyone here made the jump from the 16ft BaseCamp to the 20 footer. If so, was it worth it?

Hi

Bigger is always better

With any change like this, best to go look at several options before you decide on any one of them. Go sit is a couple of the alternatives and then decide what works for you.

I'd put these on the list:

20' Basecamp

16' Bambi (yup stil 16')

19' Bambi

20' Bambi

22' Bambi

Same lengths in the Caravel

All should come in under the max tow weight on the Atlas ( assuming that's a constraint ).

Yea we realized the 16 was just a little too small but you would take the Bambi over the BaseCamp? I just preferred those large wrap around windows up front for me.

Hi

To me, there is more room in the 16' Bambi than in the Basecamp. That may be an illusion. It certainly depends a lot on just what sort of room you are looking for. I prefer the bed setup in the Basecamp.

Again, this all is *very* specific to you. Nobody else can really decide what is a plus or a minus to your way of camping. Go out and find as many examples as you can from the list. Spend at least an hour in the trailer. See how you fit here / there / whatever. Look at how stuff stores. Check the clearance as you move from here to there ( like in and out of the bath ....). Lots of stuff matters.

What matters to "full size" Uncle Bob, probably is very different if nobody in your group comes in over 120 pounds / 5' 6". Your situation is unique.

Enjoy!
