Maybe someone else will post a picture of their ss flapper latch.
The little latch is made the same size as the plastic counter part but is just a strip of ss metal with a small 90 degree bend on the tip so your finger can move it to latch or unlatch. It is fixed next to the flapper on one side only with a small rivit. I think it would be difficult to install without removing the entire vent.
Did you see that AS also sells the ss replacement covers with spaced rivit holes all around so a person only has to add rivits to have a fancier cover.
I went with the plain Jane covers for my trailer, but can see how a fancy door with rivits all around could look, well,,,, fancier.

I pulled in about 2PM on the 2nd. Too bad, that would've been fun to meet ya. I was at the Terreport till Saturday morning getting a couple sections replaced.

I will grind down the bottom lip when I have the time and that should make it fit.

So much for my communication skills, LOL. I should have said the furnace cover. I have the hot water heater SS on order from the on line AS store, but hasn't arrived yet.

My furnace cover fit fine, but IIRC that is the one that came from Williams. Robert Cross (above) says they are different than the AS store ones.

It would have been good to meet you also. As a matter of fact,
a group of us who met while in the waiting room (total strangers) were there for repairs without our better half(s) and decided to find a bar/resturant and have dinner together. Come to think of it, I don't even know if they are members on this Forum.
The balk of things that I needed done was warranty related, but I still dumped a small bundle in that place. As you know, I'm sure, it's not very hard to do.

I was running stag as well. I had to take 3 vacation days while DW worked. I was good this time, only bought Glare wax and overhead door struts for my lockers.

Hey, Bluto, how about a pic of the vent latch. ...
|
This is a pic of what JC is currently stocking. There is a single latch on the left side as seen here.
It doesn't look like it would be too hard to make something similar, but it would be easier to pop rivet it from the back side with a washer to reinforce the front. Or a small stainless machine screw with wave washer for tension and a lock nut.

Nothing for us shiny vintage trailers? We lost the water heater door on way home from shop 3 weeks ago. We have 66' Caravel. I would prefer no metallic paint, but matching skin only. I guess I can hope in one hand and spit in the other? ;-)

The stove vent does not have the plastic retainers, it does not leak or flop around in the wind though.
