I need help. We recently bought 1970 29' landyacht. The problem is when we were bringing the old girl home we lost the storage door that is behind the refrigerator. Traffic was to bad to cross 4 lanes and pick it up . Alway I'm hoping someone can take a picture or two of it up close where my husband can get one made.
You might want to check in the salvage yards first. The door would have been a solid access door, not louvered. One from a diffrent spot/year might fit depending on the size. You could also post a wanted thread in the parts forum, or on the vintage airstream site.

Thanks for the reply. I've already checked around and no one seems to have the door I need. Since it's a solid door and not the same size as the new ones I'll have to have one made. So my only hope is some one out there on the forms has one like mine and can take a picture of it for me.
The frame of the door is a pretty complicated extrusion, and the corners need to be formed. You could make a flat cover, but the original is a more of a plug that seals the opening. This will be expensive to duplicate, I would look long and hard for a replacement.
Here is an idea to hopefully prevent the loss of a door.
Put a cable about midway down the lenght of the door on both sides to the body. If it falls off the hinge it would hang on by the cable. With some planning it would be short enough cable to keep it from dragging the ground. With some luck it wouldn't beat the snot out of the side of the coach flapping in the wind.
Just a thought.
