In search of Propane tank cover... odd one

I am always tinkering with my Airstream (2015 Landyacht). My most recent thought is along my never-ending quest to reduce the trailer weight and especially the tongue weight.

One way is to go from steel LP tanks to aluminum (save about 12 pounds total). Note that I am struggling to find AL LP tanks... VintageTrailerSupply has been out of stock forever.

But beyond just dropping the 12 pounds, I could also reduce the tongue weight a bit more if I could move the tanks rearward. I've never liked the fact that the current location has the tanks spaced 14" forward of the trailer. It's kinda goofy looking and while I suppose it was done to put the battery box behind the tanks. I think it would look better if the tanks were close to the trailer and a nice aluminum cover blended into the trailer.

I've looked into getting a custom cover that would move the tanks rearward and blend nicely to the hitch jack with a storage compartment between the tanks and jack. But no progress there.

I've also looked into getting an LP cover from Europe that has the tanks closer to the trailer, but getting it here would be challenging.

And then today... I saw this. It was a 2012 "Bambi Signature". Please see the picture below. Although it doesn't have a storage area blending forward to the jack, it sure looks nice and blends into the trailer nicely.

Anyone have the story behind this cover? Think it would fit on the front a-frame of current wide-bodies without significant hacking?

I’m surprised that no one seems to know anything about this tank cover. Bummed.

I like the look. It would have been nice if the cover was made to cover the whole "A" frame. The the gas tanks are hidden nicely, but the battery box is not particularly aesthetic.

Cheers,

John
