So after a doing the old internet search I found that this lock is unique to my trailer with the front storage hatch and the company that made them is no longer in business (oh happy day
not).
It is basically a unique lock as it has a cam inside which allows you to work the catch in an unlocked position to open and close.
Maybe me taking it apart and showing some love (cleaning and oil) made it well again,, Happy ending,,,, so far
.
Also I noticed the hatch door was sticking and I used a tad of silicone lube around the hatch door and voila slick as new.
