Exterior storage compartment

Several of my tension wires that hold up the exterior compartment doors are broken and need to be replaced before going camping. Where is a source for the steel ends of the wire that is riveted to the door? I have checked with HD, Lowes, NAPA, TSC and ACE. Any thoughts for a supplier?

Would something like this work?

McMaster-Carr Look at part number 90312A140. They have a number of different lengths, end types, diameters, and materials.

Good luck

That looks great. Thanks for the help. Is there a thread or section that lists the companies or resources that could be helpful in replacement parts like this. I know Inland and ODM carry a lot of parts but they don't have everything.

I seem to recall some prior attempts at this. Let me dig around a bit.

Soft crush fittings are available at HD and Lowes. They are sized specific to the cable so be sure to get the correct ones. Get SS cables, cut them to length and your all set. I hold them tight to an anvil and a tap with a chisel in the center pinches then easily and neatly.
