battery compartment door

I finished gutting my 1973 Safari, POR'd the frame, and re-installed the plywood subfloor (23/32"). All went very smoothly. Frame was in fantastic shape. When I re-installed the battery compartment door, it does not seem to fit correctly. The bottom part lines up nicely, but not the top as shown in the pic. Before I gutted the trailer, the fit was not perfect, but was not this bad. Anty suggestions?

If the hinges were further to the outside the door would fit.

Also, bang on it a little, it may have gotten a tad out of plumb
