1965 globetrotter door handle @ deadbolt

Does anyone know who makes a door knob @ seperate deadbolt with a 4 inch backset for my 65 globetrotter. The only ones I can find have 2 3/8 or 2 3/4 backset. So they dont get close enough to the frame to work. The trailer has a replacement someone found but its in gold plate and looks like crap and has no keys. If it was aluminum colour I would get it rekeyed. They must be made by some supplier.
Any help or links would be great, or is this a stupid question and theres something simple I am missing ?
Thanks Dr-Quest

Take a look at this thread...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f453...5-a-65571.html

I believe your backset on the Globetrotter is 3 3/4" rather than 4" - at least both my Caravel and Tradewind are. I never did get pictures up, but both the lockset (no mod required) and the deadbolt (with some grinding and filing on the tailpiece and using the original bolt) work very well. I am sure other hardware mfrs will have the 3 3/4" backset as well.

Good luck.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for the reponse
Doesn`t sound perfect either but it is the only response to this problem > And from your link it seems I am not the only one. I have read about bolt extensions but I need to do more research. The deadbolt is the important one right now for me.
All the best Dr-Quest
