I live in a Townhouse complex... HOA allows camper park during daytime for car wash, repairs or loading.

I park the Flying Silver near my work office which is 50 miles away (one hour drive). I tow to campgrounds after work. only $100 per month with free wash, $7.95 per flush, uncovered, 24/7 security, gated with tall fence and closes at 9:00 PM every night. Guard dogs are let out around 9:30 PM inside the large fenced area. Cameras are everywhere inside the fenced area and gate. No report of theft for many years.

For those of you storing (inside) with 30A power—why do you do this? I have a 30A RV outlet but have only used the 20A largely to keep the lights on and the batteries topped off. If I was running the furnace or the AC the 30A would be useful. So I’m just wondering if I’m missing something critical.

Enjoyed seeing ideas other owners use for storage. Last August I bought a home without a garage but did have an unused tennis court, 120x60' with lights and a 12 foot fence around it. In stages, repurposing it into a garage and work shop. Phase 1, spent $5000 cutting a new driveway onto the court and opening the fence. Phase 2, planning a 50x30' metal structure with dedicated power. Phase 3, restroom and sewage connections.

Ultimate goal is to have a shop and room for all my cars and Airstream plus have space for my Airstream friends to park overnight on trips to and from Florida

Keeping my 27' Globetrotter at my home is not an option. I found a seasonal site near the beach about 3 hours from my home. I take about 3, 7-10 day trips a year and about 1 short weekend trip. My seasonal site turns my AS into a summer home that I can use whenever I want. And we use it often. And the annual costs is about what I would have paid to park in a commercial lot. Turned out great for my family.

We keep Lucy plugged in to a 30 amp RV outlet at all times when she is home. we also keep her refrigerator on and in use. We do this for several reasons. we use Lucy almost daily for office and project space. We also use Lucy's air conditioner and heat pump to control inside humidity. Humidity in the 90% range is the norm here in the Florida Panhandle.

Florida—say no more. Spent a lot of time there as a kid with asthma and I remember the heat and humidity well!

If the trailer was being used in earnest while parked in the garage I’d have no issues using the 30A. Sometimes the kids use it as a hangout space or play a board game in there. But I assume it’s not ok to run the furnace (carbon monoxide), so we use our electric space heaters. So the 20A plug has been more than enough.

I had an extra concrete driveway laided about 50 feet from the house. Had 30 amp electric added next to the this driveway. I plan on having a water line laided this summer. Also, putting in 150 gallon propane tank next to the driveway for the AS. I ran out of propane during the bad weather and was unable to get the onboard tanks refilled since I was snowed in. Also, I am hoping sometime soon to have a carport structure built to cover the AS.

Parked in my driveway plugged into a 50 amp plug I had installed on its own circuit. We had an extra 30’ of driveway poured to store our Airstream and still get in/out of garage.

We have an HOA so no parking for more than 24 hours, street or driveway. Several other restrictions involved. We store ours at a secured facility, lots of cameras, big steel gate, no access from about 10 PM to 6 AM. Gate won't open during those hours. It's a big lot with lots of other expensive RVs, travel trailers, tractor trailers, etc.

We pay $75 a month, just open parking, no power. I have solar and it keeps the batteries charged up.

Our Association rules prohibit parking in our driveway more than 48 hrs to load or unload. We have chosen to rent in a climate controlled facility. We can get to it any time. We live in a northern climate and travel south in the winter. They don’t make us pay when we’re gone and guarantee the spot when we return. Typically boats are stored there over the winter.

Safe in the bunker

We have a retired dairy farm so our Airstreams are stored inside one of the storage bunkers. Nice and dry and easy to work on. The 73 is up front and the 53 is way in the back

Cristal is parked at a covered, secure storage facility (with 15A, dump, water, propane, wash station) that is about 15 min from our house. We pay premium for the convenient location though - $286 a month. After we get a little more experience with packing for trips, we will consider moving her farther away to a less expensive storage facility.

California mild weather, gravel driveway, 50 Amp plugged in, full hookups. We use it everyday for this and that. Wine storage, extra fridge, we stay in the trailer when guests come over.

We're in Colorado and park our 25' at a storage facility about 20 minutes away. It's in an enclosed space with an overhead door, a power outlet suitable for a trickle charger, no heat. I appreciate the protection against hail, wind, snow and we get all of that. Backing in took some practice, we have good days and bad days. Cost is $178/month.

We are full-time now but we stored for a few years at our airstream dealership. They were much less expensive than a regular storage facility. We paid $90 per month, uncovered. As a comparison, in our area, uncovered at a storage facility is $300 per month.

Our AS is parked at home on a pad made for it. Not concrete; just gravel

Ready and waiting to go!

Parked on her spot next to the house on a gravel space where I installed a 50 amp service plug to charge her up before an adventure!
