What's your favorite park in the Catskills?

We're considering a trip next week. Any suggestions appreciated!

Based on my childhood trips to the Kingston, NY area and the fact that it is still in business, I would check in to Kate's Lazy Meadow, 5191 New York 28, Mt. Tremper, NY. 845-688-7200.
As a matter of fact, I'm going to call them to see what they offer. I know they have Airstream trailers in their Lazy Desert location, not sure about RV spots at either, though.

Nope. No RV spots at Lazy Meadow.

A quick search of "Catskill RV park" shows several places to stay.

Hopefully someone here has some first-hand experience in the Catskills???

We "tried" Catskills camping for two nights last August in North-South Lake on our way to our favorite NY Adirondack lakefront area for two weeks. Unfortunately, we personally did not particularly care for the Catskill region....guess we are confirmed Adirondack diehards after enjoying the wilderness regions among high peaks region and many differs waterways for over past 25 yrs. This year we are planning a little stopover near Hyde Park, NY along the Hudson River enroute to the Adirondacks and the along the Maine coastal regions. Sorry I could not be more help to you re: Catskills....the campsites at North-South Lake were pretty but a bit close together and we were very disappointed with the "lake" vs. pond.

I have a weekend place in the Catskills and unfortunately there aren't a lot of great campgrounds. The 2 places that I've been that I like are Glimmerglass State park and Gilbert Lake State Park. They are the closest to the Catskills region, they both have electric hookups and are very well maintained NY state parks. There's other (no hookup) campgrounds in the region but I have not stayed in them.

Thanks all. We opted to book a spot in the Berkshires instead. We are looking forward to it!
