What happened to all the vintage trailer people?
Airforums used to be a great resource for DIY'ers working on vintage trailers, but it seems like there are more post on pinterest and blogs than airforums these days....just saying!

Beats me, always many at rallies and seen on the rod. I guess the owners are busy camping and don’t have time to waste on Airforums.

As a member of the forum for 8 years now.
The majority of the threads I see are about trailers or camper vans that are less than 10 years old.
Or "whats for dinner"
There are many threads that are just beating things to death. Tires; equalizer hitch; tongue weights; hitch weights; and the list goes on.
Same guys arguing about the same stuff for years.
I spend most of my time trying to find something of interest to read here. Or someone who may need a hand in resolving problems.
I am losing interest fast.

We’re still here just older. 15 yrs under this ID and several years under another one. For me, the sense of uniqueness is not there. I suspect that many of the original post by me has been deleted, the same for others. I have no interest in what's for dinner or what can I pull with a Jeep.."Packin a Gun Mister" or polishing the airstream, working on floor rot, replacing the water heater, replacing the refrigerator.. installing rock guard, or stone guards can be campfire topics, if you know the differences. Show up for courtesy parking, which is available. (Used only once~!)

What happened to all the vintage trailer people?
I have been refining my 73, staying busy with that, work, family, and I cant post pictures since letting my supporting member status lapse.
FWIW, I wont use PayPal anymore, and that is the only available payment option, so I can’t upgrade....
I think that limitation is kind of a bad move by forum administration.... just my take though.

Lol, that might explain where a bunch of the vintage crowd has gone. Having a “limited account” isn’t all that much fun.... #JustSayin

There are so many complaints from people who have new or newer trailers. . Expectations can be difficult. I just don't have much in common with my '72 .

We can always start a thread about what the meaning of "TV" is.

Half ton to 27 feet, 3/4 ton over that, all with weight distributing hitch and sway equipment. Simple... right?

Vintage
I am still here, read it daily in the morning looking at the most recent topics or the highlight page that is emailed when we are on the road, .... and I only find a few topics of interest since we are "Olde School." There are a few threads out there on restoration which I also visit and comment on if needed. I find my network of Tin Can Tourist Peeps, other Vintage Airstream Owners I have meet along the way, and Facebooking Airstream and Vintage Trailer Sites have proven to be useful, entertaining, and packed full of knowledge and friendship.
Regards,
StevieB

I'm still here, I just don't post much. My GT is in limbo, as I travel for work so much now that it's hard to get out and go camping. Company finally hired another FE (Flight Engineer) so I might be able to get more time off other then a day here and a day there. I've been the sole FE for about 3 years.

Enjoy the 27 foot rehab. Check out my thread for my approach. Not traditional, but very functional

Still here, just stalled on the reno of little Jalopy (74 GT). 2 kids came 15 months apart after we started. We moved up to a 2016 30’ IS to make it turn key with the kids for now. Jalopy is still there, just waiting. I always found this site very helpful on the technical side of things. Much more than I could ever find on Pinterest and Facebook. As far as design ideas though, social media sites and (Mr./Ms.?) Google was always more insightful though IMHO.

Still here. I post as I can just like I work on the old camper as I can. There may be less posts and threads because with a google search you can find most of the information and pics of what you are looking for. With such a huge foundation of information that has been built and categorized over the many years a running thread might be more novelty than necessity.
