I also got the AC drain line cleaner. My trailer is only 9 months old but did have some dirt in the line.

I saw all his stuff at

He was my neighbor at H.Haven. Generous to a fault and full of shareable knowledge. We have the OG version of that. Neat invention...it braces against the Airstream frame and the bottom step making it rock solid.

I made something similar. Had some left over copper tubing and measured from frame to step and cut tubing and added a "T" connector. Marked the T where it contacted the step and slit the T with hack saw then opened slightly. Kept copper shiny so won't loose it

Maximize Tongue storage use

I just completed 2 projects to get additional storage on my tongue. These are not original as I got both ideas on Airforums.

The first was just adding a wooden shelf above my propane tanks to clean up additional space there for electric cord storage. The 2nd was a little more complicated and borrowed the idea from Pteck for storing / using my Honda EU2000 on above the battery box. His link is below for addt'l info on his idea. I appreciate him walking me thru this.

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f44...ue-187346.html

I used 1/2" X 1/2" aluminum angle iron and 1/2" X 3/4" aluminum angle iron to slide the feet under.

I found a 1/8" X 12" X 24" of aluminum on Amazon for the base.

Like Pteck, I have a screw stop on the back side of the track and a padlock on the front side to keep it from sliding out and a theft deterrent in travel. I will add another cable lock when not traveling.

2 1/2" webbing straps also hold it down while traveling. I used 3M VHB tape to also secure it to the battery box top. I still have access to the inside of the battery box.

I'm looking forward to having this available on a trip to N.E. Canada this summer where grey skies may limit my solar availability.

WiFi Project Complete

I've been using a Ubiquiti antenna mounted inside a window to get us online with WiFi at campgrounds and other places. but sometimes it just wasn't able to connect from inside the trailer.

Finally broke down and bought a long-range antenna and a tripod to mount it on, and then put a pass through for the cable so we can connect to the wireless router inside. Guess I'll find out on our next trip how well it works.

I'm assuming this is addressed for my mod. If not, I apologize. I've attached a picture from Pteck's post #66 on his project. His view was that it only added around 25lbs and he's been pretty spot on with details in the past. He also shifts weight around in the trailer to keep tongue weight relative. He tows with an SUV and I tow with a 3/4 ton pickup. My prior tongue weight was right at 15% so this should not affect my towing experience. Pteck has used his for 2 years since his initial post so that gave me confidence in his system as well.

I also have a Goal Zero 1000 which weighs around the same as the Honda but more compact. I will place this between my rear twin beds and more to the rear to balance out any of Honda weight on the front, similar to Pteck.

One other comment. I have an Equalizer WD and it looks to me that Pteck does as well. I did not have to change anything. If you look closely at Pteck base, his is longer than my 24" base. He used an angle grinder to grind down the top of his brackets that the WD brackets set on about 1/2" so his platform could extend over the top and use them as support underneath his base. That was above my expertise.

My generator was still able to go over that bracket and slide on the base. The generator sits solely on the battery box so no additional support is needed. My 24" base extends 3 1/2" over the sides of the battery box.

New Shower/Bath Vent Handles to replace broken plastic ones.

We had both vent handles replaced under warranty at JC after the plastic ones broke. They lubricated the slides and they moved much easier. On the first trip of the season I noticed the shower one was cracked again.

I decided to fix it for good and make replacements out of wood. I had some walnut and teak laying around and cut some blanks. I was able to super glue the plastic one together to get the dimension.

My neighbor let me use his bandsaw to cut out the shape. Since our GT’s trim is walnut so they’re the ones that look best. Rubbed some Tung Oil to finish them. Nice and sturdy, no more flexing!

Took two men three days to repair the front end separation on our 2014 31' Classic at A&P Vintage Trailer works in Paradise, TX. The two front ribs were held in place with one rivet on one and an ⅛" screw on the other fastening them to the bottom "U" channel.

A ⅛" steel plate about 8" wide x perhaps 48" long (fits between the two vertical ribs) was bent with a 1" bottom angle (lip) to match the angle of the front wall. Sadly, they see this often and have an inventory of these steel plates. Said lip was bolted through to the frame.

Then a double row of bucked rivets on 4" centers fastened the new skin front panel below the window to the steel plate and of course the usual places for the rivets were done also and then new plastic trim was applied.

Then we finished the rest of the upgrades that were scheduled.

Well Done! Thanks for the photo. It blows the mind how something straightforward doens't readily come to mind. I really like the shelf in the propane tank well and I have the same generator. THANK YOU!!!!!!

I'm curious about the separation. Is this due to the antisway stabilization hitch? I've read where this has been a problem and some have changed over to the swivel oscillating hitches

Smile I actually got my cheap wireless rear view camera installed!!

It has a 7" screen, full HD color, the camera just connects 12V to a clearance light, and the monitor just plugs in to a cigarette lighter.

Honestly, I can't believe it works this well for the price.

WOW!

I had a similar repair done in Upstate NY last November. IMO that's the one of the best ways to fix the front end frame separation issues so I feel your financial pain as well.

Beautiful job.
What's involved in mounting the handles?
