Built Little Girl a shelter to help protect her from hail and snow load. She was parked in her home Sunday after coming home from a rally.




Used a huge beam on the side so we can open the patio awning to dry after a camping trip. Came in handy since the awning was rolled up wet during our rally. Inside the shelter is wide enough that we can open the window awning too.

Okay, our little addition...I mean little. We bought a 4 qt collapsible stockpot that works on gas, electric and induction. Wife likes induction because it's efficient. Boils a couple of cups of water in about 5 minutes. Best of all it doesn't create a lot of heat and humidity that propane creates.

Cutout snug fitting Reflectix flexible insulation sections for the Fantastic fans and rounded upper long window ports in lounge, galley & bathroom window ports.

These are thin, flexible and super airy light weight (not to mention Aluminum looking !) Only need to use on extreme temp occasions.

On a mostly sunny day, noticed immediate drop in radiant heat coming through these combined areas. Bet real nice in cold weather sleeping /showering as it greatly reduces exterior temp transfer. Should make for more efficient AC/furnace on times as well.

Sea to Summit produced some lovely collapsible silicone-sided pots, but at least some of them are defective in that the lids warp with normal use. I had bought two from REI and had to return them for refunds. Not sure what brand yours is, but it's a good idea to check the reviews. I didn't, and the lid issue had been extensively reported by earlier purchasers. My bad.

Thanks for the advice. We bought ours from Camping World. I read a review about ours that it didn't work on their induction. Ours works great on our portable induction cooker. It can be used on electric and gas burners too. The lid is made of glass with a chrome rim like a traditional pot lid. The silicon is thicker than most collapsible cookware and stores nicely with lid placed upside down on top. Best part is the store advertised the 4qt at $49.99, but it rang up at $39.99! Love it! They also sell 2.5qt and 6qt. Here's the link.

Yes! Nice job! They are great. We made similar ones using Reflectix for all our windows. We got an idea from another airforum post that they had sewn a fabric bias tape around the edges. Looked really nice. Planning to do that soon. My wife had another idea. She couldn't easily remove the Reflectix covers from the porthole or vista windows so she had me make her some "shark fins" out of duct tape. Now it's easy-peasy.

Received Amazon order of compatible replacement festoon style LED fridge bulb. Replaces the crazy hot stock Dometic halogen 10 watt version in our 25ft 2005 Intl CCD SS. $12.99 pack of 5qty ( vs the stock single one for 15.00-20.00 ! )

Burning my fingers to remove original one was clue to replace and not add stupid heat to overcome when opened. Little squeeze on the terminals for a snug fit. Lens can rotate to preference and not shine in eyes but still wonderfully illuminating.

New LED draws @1.5watt 360 lumens bright. Cool to the touch, (vs stock 10 burning hot watts /120 lumens and yes...untouchably hot ).

Very clear pleasant halogen-Ish white (not any blue or green tint to annoy).

Highly recommended cheap upgrade.
Trade spares for beer or gift out at camp site !

Keep in mind that the original bulb may be part of the refrigerator temp control. In our ‘76 Ambassador the bulb is used to keep the refrigerator section from freezing. Sometimes a hot lamp can be a good thing, just not when you have to change it when it’s on.

Right on. The service manual for the fridge in our 2013 25FB says the bulb is used in cool weather, otherwise the cooling system would hardly ever kick in, thus causing the freezer to melt.

So Vantair, maybe you want to hang on to the old bulb for when you are camping in cold weather. (We were in Jasper, AB, two weeks ago, and our bulb definitely was on part of the time).

Great to learn ! Living and mostly camping in moderate to very warmer areas so far didn't think much of that benefit. On the same note, perhaps logical to keep some existing hot halogens in the ceiling to give quiet light "and heat" simultaneously for colder temps and less of the 7Amp furnace

I figured since I was running the wires through the same hole I would to do this all at once. Well the fridge fan wires didn't run through the same hole.

I installed a larger fan that moves more air, quieter while using less power.

The blue arrow points to the 4400TAU temperature sensor for the OEM Parallax convertor. Has anybody else installed this?

The green arrows point to the two wires that run the SmartGauge Battery Management system. Has anybody had any experience with this also? It was interesting to see it show the charge level go down as I ran things off the batteries and go up as I recharged them overnight.

It will be a month or two before I have a chance to try them out in the wild, for now I am limited to experimenting in the driveway.

Same here, I am facing a major repair bill on mine. Awning extends out a foot and then stops. Won't power back in. Manual on my next AS.
