Agree and now is the time of the year to change batteries in your trailer and home smoke detectors.

Gave Up the Ghost

After 8 years of faithful service, the Group 24 Lifeline AGM batteries expired. Order 2 new Group 27's to replace them. Order them via Lew of AM Solar. The batteries were on my porch 2 days later. WOW, what service. Thanks Lew!

A new-to-me 30x50' shop, with a decent RV garage door, and wired with a 30amp RV outlet to finally house the Airstream indoors. Only took 2 years to find one on a decently large lot.

Also ordered a replacement converter, a Progressive Dynamics model, to help ensure the batteries don't get boiled.

What did you get for your Trailer today?

Impulse buy - Coleman kerosene lantern purchase on amazon deal for 60 bucks - not like me to buy on impulse but I can gift it for Christmas if my research says it's not for me

I was underwhelmed by my led lantern this past weekend and when last boondocking - my hope is this puppy will do better and last a long time including for tent camping with my kids etc

Sounds wonderful. How about some photos of your new Airstream garage. I have some land now and I want to build a garage for two or three airstreams.

I looked at the stainless accessories- still way expensive- I wonder if there is another less expensive outlet.
I want every stainless accessory available.

I don't know about alternate sources, but thought I'd start with the water heater and shower doors. The originals of those are just bad! Other original doors not nearly so bad, IMO.

Yes, the SS replacements are kinda pricy

what did you get for your trailer today

We bought some tie backs for the curtains for our 30 foot Classic. This makes the window space much more open when we are camped and allows much more light into the trailer. We had to find a good place to store the tiebacks when we remove them from curtains.

I cut a a thin piece of wood into a decorative shape, screwed a nice bronze hook on it, put some velcro on the back of the wood and placed the hook between the door and window. It holds all of the tie back nicely and we can take the hook off the wall anytime we want- no drilling required!

I thought I might try shiny silver or chrome paint on them.
The rusty white boxes for the storage bin and water compartment and plastic stove vent and fresh water fill are terrible. The black plastic latches for the "trunk" and street side storage are terrible. Some of the older trailers have chrome latches. The bent metal cover for the bumper storage is terrible. Some of the older trailers had an extruded aluminum cover.

What Did You Get Your Airstream

Hi Doug,
We have the Big Green Egg (full size) and it is a great grill. It will cook some of the best steaks you will ever eat because you can sear them at such a high temperature and then lower the heat for cooking. Also it does some of the best slow cooked smoked pulled pork ever. I have pretty much perfected my technique for the pulled pork. Whenever I serve it people always want to know what BBQ place we bought it from.
