You will see a big difference! Our AS is parked outside in a storage lot baking in 110+ temps. But the inside, although still a bit toasty, is still cooler than it was before we installed the insulation. We actually keep the rear bedroom window shade in place but slide it around the back wall when we need full view out the window. It slides back in place at night to prevent "too early" wakeup calls from 6 am sun!

Cut it a little big and compression holds it in. There is a little gap between the trim and the skylight and the edges are tucked in.
The Fantastic fan will have to have Velcro "the space age fastener" at the corners.
The ones on vista view windows are held in by closing the shade with the insulation between the shade and the window.
The ones on the stack windows will have to be held in with Velcro or just cut a little big and shoved in.
The ones on the rest of the windows will be held in between the glass and the screen and installed from the outside of the trailer.
The one on the front door will sit in the window channel.
I will have to label them when they are stored to remember which one goes where.

Thanks to FreshAir, I made a plywood lock to make sure that the suicide door does not come open while we are rolling down the highway.
Thanks FreshAir! While I was at it, I made an extra one for when I lose the first one.

As our present 'stream has panoramic windows on both ends, large side windows, vents, skylites and all which are wonderful but it is not easily cooled with so much glass. On a recent trip to Texas we were in 95 degrees every day. It is not only hot but there is very little shade so we also hit the big box store and purchased two rolls of foil backed bubble wrap and cut to fit all openings inc. the door window. Huge difference in comfort and the air conditioner does not have to work so hard. Great to help keep it cooler while not in use. Every piece is marked w location so they are easily put back into windows when needed. We will roll it all up and keep it under the bed when not in use. It is nice and dark when sleeping, especially helpful if you are near large bright lights. Of course when everything is covered in foil and the walls are aluminum you do feel like you are in a tin can.

I need to get up probably twice per night to pea, more if I have a couple of beers. I keep my trusty 9 light LED flashlight next to me to I don't trip over the dog and to make sure I shoot straight. The problem is that this is way too much light as my wife is a light sleeper. Oh, I also like to see what time it is curtacey of my remote thermometer and timepiece, see post #331. So when I was leaving Harbor Freight, the other day, I picked up a one LED light on a keychain. This is the best buck I have ever spent! I always know where it is, the spring loaded light is handy for seeing to open the Airstream door (s), seeing to pea and to check the time. It comes with 4 watch batteries, has a spring loaded switch (so I can't leave it on accidentally) and is silver. I am just so thrilled.

What did you get for your trailer today?
Okay Brody aka the Great and Powerful Obiwon was not able to post the photo of the very cool dashboard zombie we found at the LSU art museum gift shop.
It is pretty funny.
Today we put in a mirror in the shower for him to shave and I got some of those narrow velvet hangers for our clothes.
And at sur la table I got this lekue device for cooking pasta in the microwave.

We do a lot of boondocking and would prefer not running out of water without knowing it in advance. I saw a water meter someplace a while back, but it was like way over $100. A forum member recently told me where to purchase a water meter. It was $55 plus shipping. Talk about using a slug hammer to kill a knat! In this day of plastic junk, this water meter is the real deal- solid brass casing. It may be the same as the water meter in front of our home. Anyway it weighs 5 lbs. Maybe I can lose 5 lbs, so the total weight we are carrying can be the same. Looks like it will be real easy to hook up.

I got a "kill-a-watt" meter today from Amazon.com. This is a tool that probably every rv camper should have. All you do is plug it in and it tells you the campground voltage and frequency. After it is plugged into an outlet, you can plug an appliance in and it will tell you the current draw (amps), power consumption (watts) and energy consumption (kw-hrs so that you can determine the cost of operation. It was less than $18.
The main reason I got it was to determine the current draw and power consumption of my refrigerator. Lots of other uses though. Basically any appliance that you want to find out how much power it is using just plug it into the kill-a-watt meter.

I got a piece cut for every window. It feels like an Apollo spacecraft in here.

The kill-a-wat electricity usage meter will also serve to inform the operator how long the inverter (if installed) can run the various "necessary" items, like phone chargers, laptop, television, coffee maker, small microwave, etc.

WHY would you (anyone actually) need a drill to operate the stabilizers? It's just not that hard.
