Bought a replacement converter. Original was a Parallax power center, but went with the PV upgrade that is lithium-compatible for the future.

Micro-Air EasyStart at Fryeburg
Decided to get one EasyStart for the 15K A/C unit while here at Fryeburg International Rally and had it installed. We don’t boondock often but do occasionally hit 30A only sites so one is enough for now.
Also picked up an Element fire extinguisher too!

Replaced the tired, cracked, and worn out tank cover lid today. Easier than I thought it would be.

I made a couple of nice modifications to the Airstream today, both on the interior. The first was the installation of a new custom solid wood table top for my dinette. I'm quite pleased with the upgrade. The second was the installation of a sound bar underneath the bedroom television. I got sick of having to connect to the Airstream sound system via bluetooth every time we wanted to watch television. The new sound bar sounds great!

Installed this Dirt Devil RV central vacuum with the Vroom accessory. Takes up very little space under the bed. Hose stretches over 25 feet to reach everywhere.

I should have recognized the zebra wood. I took some walnut and edged it with 1” of zebra wood a while back for some coffee table tops. I then used the extra zebra wood to make a few small picture frames. I always thought it was a very unique wood.

Patience, please, with a novice. It is probably obvious to you guys, but I am a rookie so please educate me. How does this work? Do you jack the tongue up and then lower it onto this? Before hooking to the truck or after? Sorry if a dumb question. Seems like a really good safety step before pulling out on a trip.

For our Sherline scale, we just lower the tongue on to the disc at the top of the scale. We use a block of wood under the scale and also between the scale disc and the hitch coupler - where the ball is inserted. This is done unhitched. The weight is read directly from the dial. The scale may be ordered with whatever weight range you prefer; it works via hydraulic pressure to display weight.
Our weight is far above what the AS literature states...causing us to upgrade our TV cargo capacity.
You may also use the Sherline to measure the weight at your wdh and - with the higher range dial- weight at the frame / axle area.

The Fastway is basically a spring in a tube, where the tube has graduated marks. The top goes into the coupler and then you lower the jack until the weight is all on the Fastway. In theory the trailer should be level since you want the correct weight on the coupler.
The Sherline is much smaller. It's a machined cavity with oil and a pressure gauge. As the piston pushes down, the pressure on the gauge increases. It only moves about 1/4". The problem is you need to stack something under the Sherline to get it at the coupler height while the trailer is level. Most folks use those yellow wheel legos, some stack 2 x 6's.

Another tongue scale can be found in the “Weigh-Safe” products. This product uses a scale much like the Sherline but is built into the hitch. In some ways, this is easier to use as the trailer is coupled to the TV and the scale is always there reading the tongue weight. This is probably the most expensive option compared to the Sherline or Fastway scales.
