TST said the draw was so small leaving it plugged in was not an issue.
To be honest, I don't think the repeater helps much if at all. I've forgotten to plug mine in and the monitor still found all the tires in about the same time.
Be aware that the reading in the monitor is not updated in real time. I think it's updated every five minutes unless it changes, then it's instantaneous. (I've driven away and had a reading 5 miles away???)

Thanks for the detail. Good to have additional confirmation that the draw should be small enough to ignore. No zamp connector on my 2012 FC30RB. Maybe next year. I wondered how important the repeater was. They put a card inside the box emphasizing that it is part of the product and not using it could void your warranty. While I don't believe the part about voiding the warranty, I have read that some people have had trouble with longer trailers and the Airstream is a nice big metal cage, so I installed it. My truck was parked 30 feet in front of the trailer when I tested the system and it worked fine. I didn't try it without the repeater. For the updating, I would assume that if it loses connection with a sensor it will just keep displaying the last known value until it hits some timeout...or perhaps forever. I'll run up and down the freeway next weekend and see how it does.

I don't have any proof, but I suspect that the repeater will help as the batteries in the sensor get older. New batteries would give the transmitter the maximum distance. I mounted my repeater on the side of my tongue jack with double sided tape. Repeater is wired to the downstream side of my battery disconnect. The red light on the repeater reminds me to disconnect the battery when in storage. This has been my setup for 3 years and the repeater seems to still be functioning correctly.

I found with my newly installed TST’s, on our first trip using them, I forgot to plug in the transmitter and started getting readings but then one sensor stopped sending info. I pulled over and plugged the transmitter in and everything worked well. We have a tiny little 22FB.

I also wired the transmitter into solar connection so I could have a disconnect and zapped strapped it to the propane tie down under the plastic cover. Pretty easy to install that way. I could always put a switch on that circuit so I don’t have to unplug it.

My DW picked up the Equalizer bone tool for $7 today based on the “must buy” advice of a long time Airstreamer.

Not sure what I will use it for, but I am sure it will come in handy for something…LoL

Any recommendations?

I know this is an older post, but wanted to ask if you could recall the brand and provide the dimensions. My DW would like to install the same in our AS.

Thx

Isn’t this used to unstick the windows from the seal? Safer than a screwdriver and less important than a credit card?

Solar Suitcase

I just purchased a Renogy 200 Watt Eclipse Solar Panel Suitcase. Combined with my other two, this will give me 600 watts of solar.

Those are good for gently prying windows free from sticky weather strip

The bone tool is arriving today. I’d forgotten that was on my wish list so thanks above for the reminder.

I ordered the bone tool as well. And, a cover for the electric jack and some Griot's Garage ceramic wax. Oh, and some more protectant for the rubber gaskets around the windows, door etc...

If it loses connection to a sensor, the alarm goes off and the display reads "0". I've removed a sensor and had that happen.
But if your tires have 65 psi over time, the monitor only checks for an update every five minutes. If it goes from 65 to 63 the report will be instantaneous. This saves battery life.

Alternative to a bone tool might be an oud pick: https://www.amazon.com/Pcs-Professio...a-880325277984

Mounted a chain hanger crossbar on the tongue jack yesterday. Made for a much nicer setup with a place to hang everything. Had to modify the opening to allow it to go around the doo-dads, but overall pretty easy install.

Even with Proven Industries lock, thieves could use your chains. thought about adding a long padlocks to secure chains from being used?

Yeah, they could. Not sure what a padlock would do though, as they can be cut in a heartbeat. The PI lock is there to help persuade them to the shinier trailer down the row. We don't use a storage facility, so our only real concern is when we are out camping and away from the campsite.
