Waiting, waiting, waiting
With our Airstream bought and waiting for us back in snowy and cold New Jersey, we're in limbo until the weather clears up and we can make the long trek back to get it.
And we're tired of waiting already!
We've been busy buying things and our house has looked like Christmas the last couple of weeks with boxes pouring in. Boring (read: husband) stuff, like water hoses, tanks, tools, and lots of other things; good stuff, like dishes, cutlery, towels, blankets, camp chairs, etc.
The TV is outfitted and ready to go; today was the delivery and installation of the bed slide. That will be great - not having to clamber up into the truck to reach the things far forward.
And now....we wait. We've had an abnormally warm January here in Phoenix, although things have predictably cooled off in time for the Open. Why, oh why can't the dealer be located in Florida or some other warm oasis?

I live less than an hour from your dealer, our weather has been cold but totally ok for travel. This weekend will be great. Hope u get it soon, just plan time for getting home if you get a snow travel day.

That's encouraging, as we've been wondering how the winter has been affecting our new family member!

And I am here in the Phoenix area too, wishing I had my FC 20' here to play in but it is up there in cold Idaho looking forward to next summer's travels in the NW and West in general.
I understand your frustration but from a different spot.
Rubbing it in though, there is a dealer in Mesa......

Wow! This thread could have been my thread. We are in Vt and are also waiting on weather to travel to NJ to pick up our new airstream. Cabin Fever is definitely starting to get to us.

We're in Alberta waiting to pick up our FC 23 in Virginia in March ...
I've read too many 'leaking Airstream' threads, stress is building up!
Come on spring!

We are waiting for better weather. We'll be driving almost 5,000 miles round-trip, and as newbies we don't want to drive the Airstream home in snow, sleet, ice, or on roads heavily salted. So, we're waiting until the latter part of March. That coincides with our kids' spring break, but if the trailer was in a warm-weather location, we'd leave them here and get driving!

Yes, we went there first, but they didn't have the trailer we wanted, and frankly, we weren't impressed with them at all. We ended up buying from Colonial Airstream in NJ, and they've been simply fantastic to deal with, from the sales side as well as service - they're putting on a lot of after-market things for us (bike rack, different toilet, etc.) and they've been great about it all.
But still....New Jersey!!

Ordered mine in September, it arrives any day . I have had every emotion from buyers remorse, to buying every gadget in sight. I truly must have Aluminitis already, what will happen when my 30 ft AS finally gets here?! I guess AS rally's are actually support groups in disguise.

We have a sliding bed in our truck. I bought it used and it came with it. My first thought was " Who needs that thing". Boy was I wrong. It has worked out great since we have a cap on it also. Just pull it out and you can just about reach everything. It does reduce the total usable space but only by a little. We have a short bed anyhow. Ours has sides on it but they come off if you need to carry sheet rock or plywood. I had about a half pallet of pavers on it once. That probably overloaded it somewhat but it handled it well. Definitely a good choice.

Here's where we got ours:
http://www.amazon.com/Bedslide-15-75...ords=bed+slide
Here's the manufacturer's link:
BEDSLIDE
My husband installed ours yesterday, and one thing he can say is that the Bedslide website is not super-helpful for the DIYer....they sure sound like they are pushing people to use their dealers. However, he did get it installed, and we love it.
He also bought these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
He installed them behind the wheel beds so we can utilize the extra storage that would be wasted due to the bed slide.
Polarlyse, I'm glad you like yours...I was wondering if it would be worth the money, but after seeing it installed and moving it in and out, I can already tell it will be!
