Virginia Trip
Hey all.We just got back home and it turned out to be a great trip.I just wanted to give a heads up to all and I will be posting pics here as soon as I can.We put around 3000 miles on this trip total and the Touareg pulled awsome.I also had a couple of other Airstreamers flash me as we were going on our trip. That was really pretty cool to have that kind of hello out there.I will be posting as soon as possible so hang on tight.

Pics
Here are some pics for everyone to see.The place we settled at was called Misty Mountains Campground.I thought it was a really nice place to be.We even got to be on top of the hill to see alot of things. The people are also great as well.Very freindly and willing to give you their arm or leg for your happiness.A definite plus in my book.Weather was great also.It was around 75 or so but when that cold front came through it dropped like a rock and was in the 50's and 30's at night.I was watching the news and they even said that some places were around 28 degrees in some areas. That is very cold to me being that I am now home and wearing shorts and t-shirt right now. This was well worth the trip and a great expierience. We went to several places and toured some areas like crab tree waterfalls. That was a 3.6 mile hike up the side of the mountain and it was very wet.It was starting to get dark before we could reach the top though so we only got 3/4 of the way up.We also went to an old tavern called Michie Tavern. You could eat there and also take a tour of the old house. The food was good but was something you could get at Grandmas house for that ol fashion home cooking. It is worth going to check out though. It was very fun seeing everyone dressed up and doing everything that went on in the year 1787.
Going home we stopped in Savannah Georgia for a couple of days.A really nice area but we did not have enough time to search it out to good.We did stop at a fort there and that was fun.
Last stop was in ST.Augustine Florida. My most favorite place to be.We go here at least twice a year and some in between. This is one of the greatest places to be.I can go surfing anytime.Visit some friends and take my daughter to the park everyday. Also they have some of the coolest little shops and eateries. Now that we have the Airstream I do not have to worry about where to eat sleep and shower etc, etc, etc and we plan to go back there in a couple of weeks to stay for around 2 weeks.Wel here are the some pics as promised.
Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed your visit
We have hiked up Crabtree falls. We just stayed at a campground called Montebello. Some pull with the Overlander up the road past the falls...
Did you visit the Greenwood market down the road from Misty Mtn? We love their bread.
you were less than a mile from "Trailer Buff" the guys that did our Overlander.
Hope you come back to VA soon!

Yea
We went there. That area is great and everyone is very friendly and yes I think we are going to try and go back up there again to finish touring the area. There is so much to do.
It is a drive to Crabtree falls. We took the dirt road that saved us some time in getting back to the campsite.I have to say though that it is a pretty steep mountain when going down it from the crabtree falls area.If I remember correctly you can drop at a 15 to 20 degree on a downward slope on the road.It was fun though as I did not touch the gas to see how far as I can go before stopping and we went for a while doing that.
We were very lucky when we got there cause the leaves were still doing good and on the trees.2 days into it and it rained knocking most of them off.

Loved the pictures. It's home to me!
Next time try Natural Bridge and the Lexington/Goshen area in the Valley. So much to do, you'll want to come back again.
Glad you enjoyed the Old Dominion.
