I did 7 years in the AF. Spent some time in Riyadh and Prince Sultan AB in Saudi. Tons of long term TDY assignments to Hurlbert, Langley, Nellis, Andrews, etc.

Got out in 2000 and haven't looked back, but I cherish each and every memory I have and have made life long friends that will always be such.

All right! I can do that! But my 4 years in the Army pale in comparison to that of my folks - my Dad and Mom. I'm a newby, so still feelin' my way... but any reason we can't resurrect that 2006-2007 thread noted above about what the folks did in WWII?

Dad started as a Private in the Army Engineers, served in Italy. Never said much about it but I know he was at Anzio.

Will be going to the grave again today to say Thank's, God Bless all who have Served, now Serve and Those no longer with us.

Found this note in the breast pocket of his Uniform when we buried him.

WW II in France....my Dad

Well, there is a story here. He is wearing cap, standing with hand on hip. The job was low level night interdiction...I guess his Buddy Wingman here, on the nose...Lt Reedy...got carried away with the low level part. Dad is 95 this month.

my dad served in the army during WW2 and fought in the Philippines. He never talked about it to me but I've done some research... I'm proud now to work in a nursing home and serve the Greatest Generation. Dad passed away 13 years ago on July 4, a fitting day for someone who taught me to be proud to be an American.

Welcome!

Great to have another Air Force Veteran Airstreaming! One of the best things about owning an Airstream is this website. Any time you've got a question, just ask it and folks will be very helpful!
