Andy, Tim has a podcast every other Thursday called "Vintage Airstream Podcast". Very informative & there are at least 179 episodes you'll have to catch up on!

Mine was discovering that silicone had been used
As inner seam sealer for repairing upper and lower street side rear panels (inside the outer skin) I Discovered this when I replaced the rear flooring in my 34 footer. Must have been two tubes worth of this crap to scrape out. This was a repair done by an Airstream repair guy in N. Ga. Who will remain nameless on the forum.

How about the roof air that had failed, and the PO had mounted the replacement--in a side window.lots of duct tape, lots of screws and pieces of wood trying to secure the thing. I guess it worked for a while, until the compressor burned up. My guess is all the oil had settled in the condenser, which was now on the bottom of this vertical-mounted kludge.
