(my previous post was deleted by the Forum managers because they said it was a dispute with Airstream, so I'll just provide you with the facts).
I think the Airforums community should know that when my Norcold electric-only fridge from my 2021 27F Globetrotter stopped working a few weeks ago, the technician pulled it out and we realized it was a previously repaired / refurbished unit. The duct tape (according to the technicians) is used after repairing a cooling liquid leak.
I am not going to add any further comments in order not to sound hostile but please see attached images.
I'm afraid you might want to do a little more research before you rely on your technician's comments as factual. Here is a photo I found online for a brand-new Norcold 12vdc compressor fridge. It appears to have the same taping around the corners as yours.
I can't speak for the specifics of the fridge in your trailer, but it does look very similar to what this place is showing for a brand new one.

Looks just like the new one I saw today at the RV parts store. If you have a faulty fridge it is the manufacture that is responsible for repair or replacement. The dealer will help you if you work with them. If you take it upon yourself without authorization you are "on your own".
