I thought I received a message when I signed up here telling me there were services available from the Airstream community that included towing an Airstream to a destination? We are in the process of purchasing a 27’ Globetrotter and at the same time selling our 37’ MH. We need the trailer towed from Las Vegas about 300 miles to Casa Grande, AZ, our winter location. While there, we’ll work on upgrading our Kia Soul to a truck.

Congratulations on your new Airstream!

Maybe the dealer will let you keep it there until you have your new tow vehicle ready. That way when you do pick it up and get ready to bring it home you will have the extra benefit of staying for a day or two in it close to the dealer, getting use to its little nuances and needs, as well as for any little things that you may have questions about- if any. We have had similar questions of dealers in our search and they are very helpful and accommodating for issues like this.

Depending on the dealer, you may be able to get a few months of "free storage" tossed in on the deal. That may or may not help in this case.

There are a variety of places that will rent you a truck, set up with a hitch, to tow a trailer. That might save you a little money.

Past that, the same outfits that deliver trailers to dealers (by towing them in) sometimes do other work as well. As noted above, the dealer would be a good contact point for that.

Do you have neighbors with "bumper tow" RV's? At least around here, the answer is yes. In a pinch, they might be a pretty good resource as well. Best to check the ball size on their hitch before driving 300 miles .....

Don’t you want your Tow vehicle and pick up at dealer. They can install your WD like blue ox equilizer or propride for you TV and trailer. This may be the deciding factor if you have not towed a trailer. Didn’t your dealer talk to you about your WD hitch choice. Not everyone is adept to install your hitch set up appropriately. The dealer should hold your trailer for you. Are you needing the GT to live in while selling your other RV?

As a part of the purchase you should negotiate delivery to your site. Most dealers here in AZ will make the delivery at little or no cost. Las Vegas should be no different. Last year we "took delivery" 210 miles away from the dealer location. We negotiated that as a part of the purchase.
