Trailer Names

I want to put a name on my International AS. She will subsequently be named "Sabre-D" in honor of the F-86D Sabre fighters that I flew back in the Korean era. The "Dog" was the most advanced fighter around when I flew it and I consider my AS just as much top of the heap now.

Does anyone know a source for lettering that could be applied; either decals or adhesive? I would like a nice, script lettering if that is available.

Answered my own question

I did a web search and found "Speedy Signs" with a choice of about 200 fonts. I ordered my AS name in "Kim's Handwriting" font and in red premium vinyl. 3" high letters. It should really look special. It's a real unusual font face.

I'd like to see someone put some "nose-art" on an AS, like the old WWII bombers....There's a B-17 owned by the Confederate Air Force named "Alumium Overcast".....

My graphic is here

Just got back from a 3-day trip to find my graphic in a Fed-X box on the front porch. I can't wait to put it on the trailer. It really looks fine through the tissue paper.

I've attached a small image of the graphic that was in the order confirmation.

Hmmm....but no scantily-clad Betty-Grable-lookin' babe clutching a sword.....or a bomb, or something?

If I was an artist ...

I would love to have something good painted along with the name. It would have to be done a lot better than I can do it.

Not all nose art is good, though. I sure wouldn't want anything like on the plane this photo. This plane was on our base and I almost surely flew it in 1955 or 1956, but without the hokey shark's teeth paint job which was added later. It sits in Mobile by the Battleship Alabama now.

It's on!

I put the name on the trailer this afternoon. On a slant just in front of the door. It looks great. I wish I had taken my camera with me, but I'll post a shot in the next few days.
