After reading through this post it suddenly dawned on me that the process by which come up with a name for our Airstreams is similar to that of Native Americans! In my life I've named auto's cats, etc using that very same and simple yet time tested formula. Example; a child's name was reveled in many ways, dreams/visions, personality/characteristics of the person. Or they are named by what is happening around them at the time of their birth. For example, if a boy was born during a thunder storm he might be called an Indian name that means thunder.

I thinks that's kinda cool!

We call our 54' Flying Cloud "Peggy-o". What other name could a Deadhead call something so sweet

Ours is Aggie the DreamStream! Aggie for the Periodic Table symbol for silver, AG, and DreamStream for obvious reasons - she is our dream come true!

I should have explained the name. Mary Joan was my mother-in-law. She passed away the year we bought the AS. Mary Joan was a spirited and adventurous woman who loved to travel the world.

But, for the blog and when on the radio (either CB or Ham), we use Tin Wheeler.

Howdy Neighbor!

We're right around the corner from Astro, but far enough away to not smell it!

Grandkids said she looked like a silver armadillo , so she is now known as Silvadilla... or Dilly for short, at least as far as the grandkids and wife are concerned. Me, I'm not into that stuff, but I do have more than a few names I've called her/him/it.

I'm tired of "Fly at Night" and would like to change it because it's misleading:
- I've never trailered at night
- people may think I'm some kind of loose after-hours woman

I don't know what to change it to, though.

Our '74 Ambassador is Cousin Eddie, the movie Christmas Vacation ("that there's an R-V") is one of my favorites and Cousin Eddie is my favorite character. He's rough around the edges and a little bit weird but he's got a heart of gold and means well.

FaN,

Your name reminds me of dreaming, not trailering at night.

But, I checked: "Daystream" is available...

Currently I call ours "casa de las ratas". After the 30 years of rat remains I had to shovel out of it during restoration. Good times.....
