You should really put this in the plumbing forum but in answer to your question if you mean the center of the flange is 8" from the wall you have just enough room for a Thetford Aqua Magic, they come in short and tall and white or almond. I needed a short one due to it sits up on a step and that was the only model that would fit my 8" rough in. It is a tight fit to the wall so make sure to make all the connections in the back before you bolt it down.
