It's not based on post count?

Expert? Nah. But I did gut an Airstream and build a trailer that has served my wife and I very well for five years while abandoning most all conventionality and RV tradition in my build.... it’s been nearly trouble free in roughly half time use.

There are only a limited number of Pseudo Expert certificates available.

Whenever a Pseudo Expert retires a nomination panel is convened to select candidates for the certificate.

A secret election is then held by the Pseudo Expert membership to elect a new Pseudo Expert.

You will be notified one week before the certificate award ceremony, which held in Texas because that is where most of the P. E.s reside.

My biggest error that has revealed itself to date is my plumbing design allowed a grease clog to happen that blocked the gray water tank vent...... To resolve this I had to make an access to pour drain cleaner on top of the plug..... too many bends, a plumbing snake was useless.

In my next build, I will be a better expert on my drain plumbing while employing even more unconventionality..... learning by my mistakes makes me a better expert.

“MY MIND’S MADE UP–DON”T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS.” This quote is infamously attributed to the pro-Nixon Representative from Indiana, Earl Landgrene, who chose to support Richard Nixon amidst the Watergate scandal that lead to Nixon’s resignation and later Landgrene being voted out of office.

Sarcasm noted!

Like the new Basecamp which required a fleet-wide recall for a new axle, because the tires were rubbing on the wheel well metal.

Like the Basecamp's fridge, which apparently does not work when the AS is sitting in direct sun in hot weather, despite many "fixes."

Instead of pouring your grease down the drain you could pour somewhere in your neighbors campsite.

glysophate based grease (the technical name for kitchen sink grease) is an excellent friction reducing lubricant for rotational spheroid systems (that's the technical term for wheel bearings).

It would behoove you to save that grease for your next hub check; that should be done every 500 miles.

Lol or pour it on my fire pit to make a smokey mess. That would make me the most popular camper ever!

We do throw our grease away, but it accumulates from dishwashing etc.

It has only totally plugged tight once, but I had to find a way to pour the “strong stuff” right on the plug to dislodge it for good.

I made a design error that I recognized in retrospect. I might fix it in my last remodel this winter..... maybe.... lol

I am right on that the same as I’m on that 500 mile hub check.

No need to check hubs every 500 mi. Unless you are using an undersized TV, then every other trip should be plenty. Bacon grease will do in a pinch but I prefer lanolin, not as smokey.

From Lumatic's post: “MY MIND’S MADE UP–DON”T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS.”

This could apply to soooo many threads. But I still read them for giggles and kicks. AND occasionally get some goof advice while reading the daily cartoon entertainment of those threads.

My current favorites start something along the lines of wanting to live cheaply in an Airstream on someone's land for free so please tell me how. (I do realize I am now getting snarky and crushing young peoples dreams).

So Markdoane...I am only a two rivet member. Unlike others who are three and aspire to be a master my question is this. If I post enough to become a three rivet member can I be entered into the voting to become an apprentice pseudo expert?

The qualification requirements must not be disclosed.

However, I assure you that a two rivet member is well qualified for Pseudo Expert certification. There have been P. E.s with as little as one rivet.

You would not believe how cheaply the Mrs. and I can live in our Airstream about six months a year. It’s the bomb. Especially compared to what it used to cost me for half that time in a Hotel.

Ah, but add in the mother truck, and the maintenance on the Airstream, and the small roof ding that can be easily hidden with a $2000.00 roadside awning. Wah![emoji37][emoji24]

To Many Pseudo Experts

My truck is my daily driver, and my maintenance expenses has mostly been tires.

I’ve done a little damage here and there, but not a lot.... [emoji4]

I am on my third set of tires though.... my new axles seem to have not been the deal I was hoping for.....
