The Next Special Edition Partnership?
Wife and I are trying to forecast just for fun. Pottery Barn will probably be coming to an end in the not too distant future.
Here is what has been done:
https://www.airstream.com/blog/the-f...avel-trailers/
Here’s what we would want to see:
1. Filson. Lord help me if they partner with Filson because I would just have to have that oiled tin cloth awning package, dry tin cloth interior, and gobs of wool pillows. This could also give Airstream a chance to bring some of the “boondocking” chops of the new Trade Wind to the 28ft platform. Factory lift and sportsman ready to rumble.
2. Orvis. I think this would be a sound choice and would be able to fit a lot of the styles and sensibilities of us Airstreamers. They could also lean into the pet friendly upholstery and make a whole line of pet stuff.
3. Patagonia. The two companies together could really push the limits of sustainability and green energy.
Wife and I agree that Crate and Barrel or similar would be too much like Pottery Barn and neither of us see them going to any partnership with any of the “luxery” brands. Sorry Supreme fan bois and Prada girlies. LL Bean would be a solid choice, but pretty similar to the Eddie Bower.
What ideas do you all have? What do you think it could be what would you want to see? Maybe we are wrong on the Prada.

I would like to see a retro version with a propane refrigerator and a 6 gallon propane water heater.

Patagonia would be cool. Make it an off-grid and off-road version complete with skid plates, lift, off-road tires, rear winch, roof rack, solar panels and off-road lights.

Agree, but I am blessed, our 2016 model has both, and with 5 monocrystalline 100W solar roof panels which generate even when cloudy (and shade the roof surface on those hot days) and a properly sized battery bank, a 2000W inverter and an induction plate, you consume only a little propane for the fridge, and when sunny, I use my inverter to heat our hot water tank, since I replaced the 1400W element with a 1000W). The tank insulation maintains the water temperature for hours.
You gain lot's of freedom and flexibility (especially when boondocking for days), for a lot less than the cost of the "new and improved" models.

My vote is for the Fender Guitar version.
Attention all musicians! Tortoiseshell guitar pick dinette top. Maple cabinets with leather pull handles. A guitar closet with room for few guitars. Built in guitar amp with quarter inch guitar jack. Stow-away player stool. Fender logo wall light. Guitar strap drawer handles for the kitchen. Fender Amp style fabric for the bed cover. Built-in liquor cabinet. If they build it, we will come.

The Fender idea sounds cool. Not for me but cool.
Browning would be exceptional, but I don’t see them picking any hunting specific partners. However, it would definitely get my whole SOB hunting family to take a look.

I guess REI doesn't rise to the level of a special edition collab for them?

Maybe because they are just Basecamps and not the traditional trailer. Basecamps may be the redheaded step child of Airstreams.

Here are my suggestions:
Cannondale - the aluminum bike company. include a bike rack, 2 Airstream branded bikes, etc
Google - with a rainbow color palette and awesome tech!
Levi Strauss - denim
Martin Guitars - with amazing wood interiors

Good catch. They should have that on their page.
I wonder if partnering with REI would open the door for another collab or if it closes it because they can keep that specific to the Basecamp.

Ever since I saw the Toyota Tacoma ad where the owner asks Chuck Norris to sign his truck, I’ve dreamed of a Chuck Norris Airstream.
The chuck Norris Basecamp 16… to show what all you can get in a small package.
I would imagine that the Chuck Norris Signature Basecamp would include
gun racks, ammo cases, Stetson rack, boots bin, many drawers for belt buckles and badges, big closet for karate stuff,
No black tank needed because Chuck Norris scares the S out of the toilet.
Bed of nails, black belt, exercise machine
Bomb and bullet-proof skins and glass,
Chuck Norris does not need a stove, oven, or microwave, because...
“Revenge is a dish best served cold”. -Walker Texas Ranger
I wonder what else The Chuck Norris Basecamp would feature...
But then,
“If I wanted your opinion, I'd beat it outta ya.” - Walker Texas Ranger

I think that a sports themed unit is well overdue.
Tailgating set up with logo of NFL teams or MLB, or college teams. Extra cooler storage space for yeti coolers, counter top ice machine, build in satellite or starlink for TV game coverage, outdoor kitchen, and outdoor TV. Lots of eating and kitchen space.
