Thanks to How I escaped IVAN

How helped me escape Hurricane IVAN. Due to a move I moved my Globetrotter and parked it at its new home and did not have time to touch it for a year. When Ivan was predicted to hit New Orleans my wife, son and I realized we could not find a hotel room. Wife looked at the trailer and said lets load it up and go. We did just that. We left late in the evening driving through heavy traffic then down backcountry roads at night to a hay field out in the country a friend owns. The trailer, hitch, truck, break controller, and everything else performed flawlessly. I have to say it all worked perfect due to the knowledge I gained from Thanks to all the knowledgeable people on this great site.

What a story your GT will have for the rest of its life~and your family along withit it! I know the whole Forum will share your relief and happiness at this happy outcome from a scary situation. Here's to all the Airstreams/Argosies that have "come to the rescue" in times of need. Say, that's another great thread that someone may start--how many ways have our treasures come in handy just when needed? Thanks again for the story!

it's amazing that a 40 year old unit worked for you. That they are around at all is a testatement to their construction.

camping with style in such a serious situation.
