Tampa RV Show
Living in Tampa, I made it to the big RV show today. Dang! The Airstreams really blow away all the plastic trailers. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way prejudice to SOB's, but the Airstreams really catch your eye. They had two, as this dealer called them, "Retro" models. All aluminum interior skins with a kind of high tech look. Nice, very nice. They had a 28 footer and a 25 footer. The 28 foot was going for 50 grand. I sure am glad I only paid $1500 for my 27' Overlander! The sales person in the retro model was singing to the choir trying to convince me that Airstreams were the best out there. Once I told her that I am owner of a vintage AS, she changed her tune and we immediately bonded. There is something to be said for the aluminum flowing in our veins.
I have made the show every year for the last 4 or 5 years, and this was the most crowded I have ever seen it. RV'ing is really catching on, and it was apparent that the people viewing the Airstream display were totally impressed... as was I.
