Suggestions on reading

I have been camping and RVing for most of my life (boy scouts, tent, then popup). I hope to retire in and get an Airstream in the next 5-8 years. I have enjoyed reading the forums and the community it supports. I also spend time watching YouTube and follow many RV vlogs.

I would like to read more. Are there any books or magazines you would recommend? Living in Indiana, I already get the Indiana DNR monthly publication and a National Park magazine that I enjoy as they provide me with destination ideas. Is Trailer Life worth anything? I read a few of their online articles and they were meh. I would appreciate any suggestions...

Mostly, I find the information on the internet. There are numerous forums, the video on you-tube that you have found and magazine info as well. Just Google the subject and get to reading.

Books on Air conditioners, refrigeration, solar and DC electrical systems can be helpful. The books on Airstream maintenance are also good sources of information. Anything that augments your DIY skills is of value.

Lots of information on hitches and tow vehicles. Many find it confusing, but understanding the physics and technology is important. In eight years, electronic programmable sway control with anti-lock and stability control braking on TV and TT will provide better choices for the consumer. There will likely be some self driving capability to consider.

However, doing the deal is something not to be ignored. You might consider looking at dipping your toe a bit deeper in the RV world. Numerous ways to do that including rentals.

Good luck with your investigation. Pat
