Small pink flamingo

So, we returned from a day trip yesterday to find a tiny plastic pink flamingo on our Airstream's rear bumper. Our neighbor (who we did not know but also owned an Airstream) had a similar flamingo left on their gas locker. Did not see any placed on other trailers. There was a 3rd Airstream in the park that left when we were both away for the day. KOA Southwest Minneapolis.

I know that Airstreams and pink flamingos are associated with each other over the years but is this an 'Airstream' thing, that I have missed in some way, to acknowledge other Airstream owners? I thought it was absolutely delightful - we both thought the other had left them and as a result we struck up a fun conversation.

We've just purchased the same flamingos through Amazon and will start to surreptitiously place them on any Airstream that we see at the sites we stay at with our WBCII number on the base and sees what transpires!!!!!

Anyone else experienced this?

We got one at the beach in SC. Can you post the Amazon link of what you ordered please? We want to get a stock of them before our next trip. I can’t find the right one on Amazon. Thank you.

A story at Airstream Supply Company says that artist Don Featherstone designed them a 1957. He was hired at Union Products
Leominster Massachusetts. They were sold in pairs and quickly adopted by RV enthusiasts. They are cute, kitsch, friendly, tropical and vacation themed.

Seems they worked to engage fellow campers.

There is a whole thread here on them also.

Small pink flamingo

I think leaving them on other vehicles started with the Jeep owners.

We suspect a recent AS rally is responsible.😂
