Show me your outdoor space for festivals / rallies / camping trips
Howdy fellow Airstreamers!
Last summer I took my 25FB Flying Cloud to its first music festival, which happened to be for Phish at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state. I gotta say that it made a huge difference having a trailer with me rather than sleeping in a tent on the ground. I’m already looking ahead to next summer and hitting some more festivals. This got me thinking that I need to make some upgrades to my outdoor setup. As you’ll see from the photos, my outdoor space was rather lacking. I had an EZ-Up type of canopy / shade structure but couldn’t figure out where to put it in relation to the awning. Speaking of which, I’m kind of thinking that maybe it’s best not to use the awning at a festival as I’d then not need to worry about putting it away to avoid damage due to high winds when everyone is away from the trailer while at the show.
I’m hoping others might chime in with their thoughts on how they set up their outdoor space at festivals, rallies, or extended camping trips. In particular I’m looking for advice on how to maximize shade and create a fun outdoor area for hanging out - what lights to use, table and chair setup, etc. It would be great to see photos of your festival setup with your airstream or other trailer. I’m kind leaning towards not using the awning, but instead having a couple of large EZ-Up type canopies that were put up close to the trailer. I’m also looking for recommendations on what type of canopy or shade structure works best, what type of lights to be used (battery powered, solar, or electrical outlet, string, or pole mounted), and what other elements you’ve added to your outdoor lounge - tapestries, flags, games, etc.
Hoping people have fun showing off their outdoor camping / festival / rally setups and apologies if this has already been done before. I couldn’t find a previous post that focused on outdoor space. Most campsite photos just show their trailers in beautiful locations. I’m hoping this thread will be more about setting up awesome outdoor areas adjacent to trailers.
Thanks!
