Just a quick note to say thank you to Southland RV for finding the mysterious water leak that had been bugging me for several months. The leak was discovered at the low point fresh water drain. Inside the belly pan there is a short piece of PVC pipe that connects the tank with drain valve. A hair line crack was discovered and the pipe was replaced. Since then, no leaks. Thank you.
The cheap plastic drain valve designs of these expensive Airstreams is shameful.
One of the FIRST THINGS I DID was to drill out the rivets on the sheet-metal box that contains the fresh water tank… remove that cheap plastic valve which Airstream has EXPOSED to everything that passes under the trailer…. and replaced it with a brass ball-valve from Home Depot connected to the tank with clear poly tubing. Never had a problem.
