Should My Dealer....

Hi,

We requested new AGM batteries with an AS we are considering. The first answer was "no" and second "we'll provide fresh batteries" (it comes with a pair of 12v Interstate wet batteries). We're unclear if that was same ones of AGMs....

Is it unreasonable to expect this response: "We can prorate the cost of the Interstates towards any batteries you'd like to upgrade to"? We think so...

Our salesman seems like a nice guy but probably new as he has to go to sales manager for every question!

If we look at it, like and want upgrades should we just dismiss the sales man and speak directly with the sales manager?

We're not trying to fleece the dealer but consider a couple $1000 in upgrades tossed into financing would be enticing. Actually we'd like to add on a Zamp portable 140w and those batteries. We think those would be useful and start up costs of an new AS (we saved nothing from our one we sold last year) already stretching the budget AND now the economy on hold better to have cash and skip a couple cups of coffee every month for the life of the loan!

Maybe when we get there this week they will be clearer and perhaps they don't take phone deals as seriously...but they should figure if we travel that far we are prepared to take the deal or close to it. Who drives 500 miles to kick tires!

Thanks!

Look at the renogy solar suitcases they are a better value then zamp. Also the battery could be purchased separately and I’d consider skipping agm and go straight to lithium ion.

It’s not a bad thing to have the old”interstate” around for times when you are storing trailer or winter etc.

Be very clear what upgrades you want them to do, and there is tons of flexibility in structuring the deal. Make sure you are getting a great deal right now, 20%+ off list price and either free or heavily discounted upgrades.

If would show up on the lot, seem hesitant to close the deal due to the Coronavirus and see how much they are willing to deal to make a sale in March. Good luck
