Sex offender gives bad name to AS's
After reading the news feed "Albuquerque tribune 12/20) I don't understand why they had to mention that David Siebers was an Airstreamer.
I sure hope he is not a member here

Yep. Its an Airstream...and he is on the move again.
They don't say what kind of Navy-Blue van it is.

It is a shame
It is really unfortunate that Airstream was identified, but Airstreams are rare enough that someone out there might just pick up on it and save some victim.
If it were some SOB white box, who would notice?
He has to park it somewhere and every RV park owner takes notice when an Airstream comes in. I have never failed to have the person registering me comment on the trailer.

Question?
Are we more interested in protecting our community or are we more interested in protecting the A/S "elitist" by posting this?
I feel it is very important to be aware of people like this who prey on women and child, but to bring it to the level that it effects the A/S reputation is questionable.
I recently bought something for my A/S and when I was ordering it over the phone, the young lady made a comment that another A/S owner called and said that, "A/S owner's are an Elitist group."
Because I own an A/S does not make me more superior than any other owner of a SOB. This is one of the turn offs that I have about owning an A/S because some of us feel "better" than the rest. This is just my opinion and it is not a slam to any other member within this forum.
My Insight- John
p.s. I'm glad that his photo was posted so we will all be aware of this non-spirit being!!!

If one of us has a blue van, better pay a visit to Earl Scheib.

If 100 RVs register drive by on the or register at a campground and just one of them is an Airstream, that Airstream will be noticed. That fact just might save a victim on down the road.
The same thing would apply if he were driving a Ferrari, Jaguar, or Rolls Royce. The unusual vehicle could well be the key to catching him.
I see no reflection on Airstream or Airstreamers.

I was answering the title of the thread.
The balance of the post was intended to explain why this information should be published.

I too said that it's important to be aware of people like this but you are missing my point.
I think I understand your point as you invisioning all campgrounds now profiling us A/S owners?

Yes, John
Until this guy is caught, I hope every campground, policeman, and citizen on the street take a second look at Airstreams and their occupants. I think it is fortunate that Airstreams are rare enough for that to be a practical way to apprehend him.
Just the same as I hope they would take a close look at all green Chevy sedans if that were what he was driving. That wouldn't be terribly practical, though, since there are thousands of them.
If it will save one child, I'll willingly stop and identify myself anytime.

John,
This guy isn't on the run from the law, he was forced out of where he was living by the locals and the local news team followed him out of town.
Read the news clip on the Forum home page.

No reason to have such a "thin skin" guys- can't we all just get along!
Bottom line is the guy gives us white men who wearglasses, and have a bit of hair missing, and maybe have an airstream a bad name.

You're right. I have the Forum page bookmatked and never look at the Home page, so I totally missed the news clip. I never knew they were even there until you mentioned it. I did look for a link in the first post in this thread, but there wasn't one.
At least, as long as he clings to the Airstream, it is some clue to where he might be.

Forum Spirit
Now that is the forum spirit I'm used to reading. Guess I've been a little touchy lately myself but that has been at work. Come on Christmas!

Tonights NBC News (1.10.03)
NBC News show cased this dirtbag tonight and how he's hounded out of every city that he goes to. The local police are always watching out for him.
He drives a full-size 1990's Blue Dodge van with windows all the way around. He has been kicked out of many campgrounds too.
I know he served his time, but the general public is no longer putting up with multiple offenders.

What about you..
Hi Guys...
How would you feel if you were thought of the same as he was, you pull into a R/V park, with your Airstream...and the first thing the camp owner thinks...I hope THIS Guy is NOT like that Guy who the police want...does it mean you ALL are labled with the SAME brush....I HOPE NOT, it's just unfortunate that he lives in one, with them being rare...and seen NOT too often...people sometimes don't 4get...such a pity to think of A/S owners ALL the same...Chris.....
