There's a place just west of Bastrop, TX on 71 called Crazy Cajun that has accumulated several old Airstreams for sale. Finally stopped in to look about a week or so ago. I've decided that they really are "crazy" for what they were asking for some of these! There were about 6 of them in all, failed axles, mismatched wheels and tires, wrecked and/or gutted interiors, and lots of body damage. None priced under $9,000 - even a little 60's vintage Globe Trotter that had been converted for some commercial use, and had a worktable fitted into the front streetside curve, with carriage bolts through the exterior skin to support it, and tightened to where it sucked dents into the skin, then sloppily siliconed. Tragic.
The "pick of the litter" as it were, was a '68 Safari International 21' (is there a 21?) that was filthy inside and out, and had mismatched wheels, but seemed reasonably intact, but even then, they wanted $12,000 for it.
