Same Price - Buy 2019 off lot or order 220?
Hi Team,
sorry to spam folks with threads/questions. Fo organization I have broken my questions up into several posts.
We can order a 2020 or purchase off-the-lot for about the same price (a little over 20% off list).
Thoughts on pros/cons and which you would do?
Thanks
Dan

I’d order a 2020. It will be 1 year newer, factory fresh. Dozens of people will likely have marched through the 2019.

Depends on how quickly you want your trailer.
Given the 2020 is brand new, the 2019 is about to be last year's news and is in dealer stock, I'd expect to pay less for the 2019.
Nevertheless, it's really all about how soon you want the trailer in your hands, and sooner is worth something if you plan to camp in the next few weeks.
Also, if there are any truly new features in the 2020 model, the last thing I'd want is one of the first units off the new 2020 line, as I would be particularly suspicious of at least the initial quality of those new features. Updated decor is no big deal, but any truly new features, I'd want someone else to enjoy (debug) before I got there.

If the 2019 isn’t exactly the trailer you want, go for the 2020. I echo Rocinante’s comments about new features, though I’m not sure we know at this point what those are or when 2020s will become available.
In the end the difference in cost should be pretty negligible, though in theory the dealer will negotiate more on a unit already in their inventory.

The 2020 models will debut at the dealer show this month & be available shortly thereafter. In April of 2015 I factory ordered a 2016 as the 15's had ended production just before my order was placed. I paid the deposit, signed the contract as did the dealer & waited. In mid July I picked up my new flying cloud & was happy the deal was signed, sealed & delivered as their was a $3000 price increase from the 2015 model to the '16 model. The dealer honored the contract & I paid exactly what I contracted for in April. The point here is your alway better off with the latest model especially if it doesn't cost you more.

Order VS In Stock
We kind of like to see what were getting. We just purchased a 2019 FC 25 RB twin that Out of Doors Mart had in stock. Actually, they had 2 identical units in stock. We went to the dealership on a rainy Saturday and the salesperson just let us look over both units. We spent 4 hours looking them over. We chose the one with a December 2018 build date over one with a January 2019 build date. 2 reasons. The December units fit and finish was surprisingly good and the MSRP was $1000.00 less because of a price increase beginning January 2019. Identical units equipped the same.
Out of Doors Mart gave us a great price upfront and the transaction was very easy. No pressure, no over sell, took maybe 5 minutes on the phone to get it done.
If you buy from stock, you can give it a once over before purchase. If you order, you get what comes in. Maybe it is fine, Maybe not. At that point you have been waiting months and want to get on with it. Yes, the dealer can fix it. We are just more comfortable seeing before buying. Just our humble opinion.

Excise tax
Assuming they are both models you want, I'd buy the "bird in the hand." I like being able to see the thing before I buy. And where I live, having a "year old" model would save me about $400 -$500 in excise tax. Our excise tax is based on the model year, and goes down each year, so you miss the highest "new" vehicle tax year.
