Remodel Interior

I have a Ford B190, I asked a couple of businesses if I can have the original couch removed and put in an electrical couch that will allow a reclining position while traveling. I was told No, due to the tank under the sofa bed. I also asked if there was a way to rearrange the interior and add a Captains style chair for a passenger and I was told no. I do not need a stove or a shower. I only need to use a bathroom, refrigerator and microwave. The RV is used to travel and we need more comfortable seats with seat belts for passengers.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this area, can I have the interior rearranged and if so is it cost effective or should I just find an rv that will fit our needs.

In my experience, anything is possible if you have enough time and money.

My first question would be "does the perfect RV already exist"?

If it does, then you can decide if it's cost effective to sell yours and buy it. If not, going the custom route is your only option.

Your term "cost effective" is probably the key term in this conversation. Chances are (depending on a great many variables, of course), that your B190 is only worth a few thousand if you wanted to try selling it. You could easily spend a few thousand to have someone do the kind of mods you describe. There was a song I recall (Thousand Dollar Car?) that stated it rather poetically, something to the effect of "take a thousand-dollar-car, put another thousand into it to make it useable, and what you have is a two thousand dollar thousand-dollar-car."

No matter what you do, you can't think of it as an investment, and you will never get your money back. If that isn't a problem, then I am sure you can find someone who will do the work. There is an ever growing "van-life" movement out there where DIYers and professionals alike are modding vans to be lived in. Heck, the guys who mod vans to make them handicap accessible may be able to help you as well.

good luck!
