Rear view camera review

Hello everyone I have a dealer installed Furrion back up camera on my 2017 international with 4 inch monitor and is useless when it comes to trying to see on my dash during daylight , the camera sucks, . Has anyone got any recommendations for a plug and play wired back up camera that actually does what you want it to do and that is see what’s behind you?
Please advise!
Marty

I have the Voyager camera that came with the trailer. It works pretty well. All back up cameras are a bit fuzzy. But the monitor is pretty clear. And I almost use it on the road like a rear monitor. I got to believe something is wrong with the camera. Has it always been that way? I'd call Furrion.

The big problem is that I had moisture get in the camera a month ago and had to replace it. Not too thrilled with that. Kind of a PITA. But now I know how to do it for the next go around; which may happen again.

I'm not sure what you mean by plug and play. My system is wired into the running lights through the Airstream.

I like my HaloView. It’s the model with the monitor shaped like the truck's rearview mirror and latches onto the rearview mirror. Wireless. Integrated dash cam on the monitor. Camera is powered from the running lights. It was not quite plug and play. But a splice and some shrink tube did the trick. I also ordered an adapter to provide power to it from the truck’s powered mirror. I use a similar adapter to power a dash cam when not towing.

Only complaint…The stock monitor antenna is too high so it hits the ceiling of the cab even with it bent. I left it off for the first couple of trips. The reception went dark/jumpy just a few times. I ordered an elbow to hopefully correct the clearance issue. The antenna should mount on the side and away from the driver.

Still too little data to wholeheartedly recommend it. I have about a month of travel coming up which should tell me whether it’s a keeper.
