Really Bad Day
I couldn't attend the silver trailer social in Napa today, we had gotten a babysitter for the day, husband took the day off work and had the truck all cleaned out for the trip, recharged the camera batteries. I was so looking forward to spending the day with him, checking out trailers and generally hanging around, holding hands, having lunch. Migraine symptoms hit me around 10 pm the night before, Kaiser was closed for business except for the emergency room, so that's where I spent most of the morning. Then slept all day. What a waste, and I didn't get to make one new friend or see one single trailer. I'd been looking forward to this day for a month.
Someone please say something to make me feel better?

Ingrid,
1st off, I hope your headache is better,
2ndly, I know how it feels to miss getting together with other aluminatics.
When our WBCCI chapter had a rally in Thonotassa last month, I realy wanted to go. But I was in St. Pete trying to get my mother placed in extended care. Had the car all packed to go and the cell phone rang. All that I had done had fallenl apart, and I never got her placed until late that night. So I missed the rally. Better half had to go without me. All I can say is there will be another meeting soon, where you can see all the trailers you want.

Ingrid,
Hang in there!
And think about our Forum rally this fall. Coastalview and I will plan the details, you just come. We will have more fun than that silver social so don't despair. It's looking like Laguna Seca in October. I'll keep you posted.

While it's hard with some of the managed care companies, it is possible to get self injecting meds and pills which stop most "vascular headaches" in their tracks. Not all real bad headaches are vascular and that's the problem.

I stopped by for a look during the afternoon.
A lot of nice trailers. Two or three were even polished nice.
Here are a couple of pics. My new favorite is the trailer with the boat on it...

I should find out more about how to medicate these dang things, but my experiences so far with migraine meds are that they have side effects that I can't tolerate, my stomach can't take them. Plus, regular exercise, proper diet, and reducing stress in my high-anxiety personality usually controls them. I haven't been working out at the gym because of a lovely skin rash on my legs that anti-biotics and the usual medicine cabinet full of creams can't get rid of, so that eliminates the hot tub sit which is our usual quiet/connect time, hubby and me. Plus some other family stresses and not respecting my sleep schedule came back to bite me.
Sooo...I'm going to the doctor about the rash (It's Kaiser so there's a wait) and then I'm back on the biking and running. Hmmmmm getting out in the trailer to a park with trails would do wonders for my psyche right now.
Big Dee, you cheered me up instantly. Please let me know what I can do to help, I'm good with word processing, spreadsheets, a little web page with details, phone calls. It gets me up off my duff and busy. And by October, we may even have ours home and towable! I'm there.
Thanks all for encouragement. I can't tell you how disappointed I've been feeling, whether it was the trailers or spending a day with my husband alone after so many weeks of him working working working. What can I say, I like the big guy, nothing I do is as much fun without him standing there smiling and shaking his head while I babble my fool head off.

The white one has a roof that's a boat? Or am I seeing things. Thanks for the pictures. I'd be REALLY depressed if I missed dancing with lampshades on their heads, maybe there will be other ones after all...

Uwe said it best: IMITREX.....
Hi,
My wife is a RN and a migraine sufferer. Having spent many nights in the ER I can sympathize with you.
That said; Uwe said it best IMITREX..... This is an injectable, oral, or nasal medication that works for many migraine sufferers. Injectable is quickest and most reliable for a full blown headache. The others work well heading off the headache if caught early enough. This stuff is expensive but it works. Check with your Dr. and have him write a prescription for all. He'll probably want to monitor the first usage for allergic reactions.
Hope this helps.
Take care,
